Had it not been for your reviews I never would have called. He's absolutely wonderful. He is a kind person, knowledgeable and trustworthy. I had showers that were leaking, kitchen faucets that needed changing out bathtub faucets that were leaking and a few other odds and ends. Ed showed up - got everything done. My tenants love him. I got the bill and was pleasantly surprised. He's very reasonable and stuck within his original estimate.

Everyone who answered the phone or returned calls was courteous and helpful. We needed a new toilet with bidet seat for a disabled son. Is tomorrow ok for the tech to come out for a quote? Wow! Next day, Cabe arrives, no spiel but an honest assessment, good information, no BS. He was knowledgeable, friendly, had an easy humor. And he listened to us! Next week he installs the toilet and bidet, and on his way out I ask him to look at the faucets in the laundry area. They were pretty bad, and as I had already thought, should probably be replaced. Give me a quote, I say, and when he does I ask when he can do the work. Right now, he replies, pending clearance from the office. Clearance granted, he replaces the faucets with new quarter turn ones. Yes, he had to cut into the wall, and while he wasn't obliged to patch it up, he put it back together fairly well. Not long after that we called about a leaking shower. Again Cabe shows up. Replaces the cartridge, but while the leaking stops, the shower handle spins 360 and doesn't check the water from reaching scalding temperatures. But he doesn't support that brand of faucet. Nevertheless, he needs only a few parts - he actually hunts them down at the local big box store! When he leaves, we have a working shower that won't burn our son. He didn't have to do go to all this effort. But he demonstrated a concern for our son's needs. We were the focus of his attention. Excellent service and a real nice guy. Cabe was outstanding, a real gem. Trustworthy. He's like a good friend. I can't recommend Smith's highly enough.

Don't look elsewhere for someone to paint your house, inside or out. Ten years ago I hired Calhoun Painting Company to paint the outside of my house. The crew arrived early in the morning, as they said they would. They worked hard all day, for four days. They cleaned up after themselves every single day; not a single water hose was left unrolled. At that time the company was run by John's dad, Mark. I posted a review then saying that I would hire Mark Calhoun and his crew again in a heartbeat. Now John runs the business. In the Spring 2026, I hired Calhoun Painting Company to paint the outside of my house. Just as before, they arrived early, worked hard in 100+ degree weather, and did a spectacular job! Most recently, I hired them again, this Summer 2026, to remove all of my popcorn ceilings (the entire house). Needless to say, it was a quite a job. It was supposed to take about a week, but ended up taking three. John, Eric, and Tyler ran into problem after problem, but John didn't budge from his original quote. Every day they showed up at the crack of dawn, taped the entire house with plastic, and worked extremely hard. They were meticulous about keeping the house as clean as possible (kinda hard to do when it comes to popcorn removal). Tyler and his wife even had a baby girl, Sunny, during the process (so Eric and/or John had to work without him for several days). Today they completed the job. When I arrived at my house, all the furniture was back in its place, the house was mopped, dusted, and the ceilings looked fantabulous!!!! These guys are honest, dependable, friendly, conscientious, talented--true professionals. They know what they're doing and they do it with style and grace.
