At Indigo Rye, the service was fantastic. I got great tea service and even had my back massaged in one of their chairs, whilst having my hair washed. I had my hair coloured and it still looks fantastic (after 5 weeks) I had a great cut and blow dry and my hair has never looked so so great. I've now completley changed the way i wear my hair everyday. I make sure that i show it of to its best. I also had a makeup constitation and the results for that were fantastic too. Even though i won this in a competition, i am going to be going to this salon again and will pay whatever, as i have never been so impressed with the way my hair feels and looks.

She assured me Kevin, the stylist, was a pro and would take care of me in under an hour. Kevin is a rockstar. It took him 40 minutes, part of which I slept through as he also managed to be very gentle :). This is magic, I tell you. The place is very tiny and feels a bit cramped, needing to dodge people when it gets busy. This is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars.

After a brief wait (it was surprisingly busy for a Saturday morning), my stylist brought me to a chair and asked me how I wanted my cut. She dia a great job, making suggestions and truly styling my hair, not just cutting it. Great work. The salon had five stylists working and they like their music. It was loud, which did make it challenging to understand my stylist at times. Otherwise, it was clean and professional.

The salon is dirt cheap around 15-20 pounds for a lady's hair cut. The staff are friendly and the quality of hair cut is ok for the money especially as the price of a lady's hair cut in the united kingdom is extortionate. You don't need to book an appointment either, so you can go there and if they are busy you can do some shopping in the Oracle and then come back a little bit later.

My hair was then destroyed by, a very pleasant, but unqualified Junior who i found out had not even completed the 2 year minimum training to be a hairdresser... i believe he has since left. He cut my hair 3 inches shorter on one side at the back & kept asking me to check his work as he was doing it, put a load of unsuitable greasy product in my hair (had to wash it as soon as i got home) & i had to ask him to stop when he burnt my scalp attempting a blow dry; if you can call holding the dryer in between his knees whilst rolling my hair over a brush by hand a blow dry... obviously hadnt been trained or skills tested. I received a feedback request which i answered honestly, constructively & a lot better than i should have. Instead of an apology or a refund I received a nasty personal message from the owner on Facebook... it then became apparent a little while later that the salon manager had started going round contacting people out of the blue in the town that i had known as a teenager 20 years back spreading malicious gossip & lies about me. I sent a cease & desist defamation of character notice to the salon directors... she responded by calling the Police out to my correspondance address. They apologised & confirmed i should go ahead with legal proceedings... i am also writing public reviews where possible to warn you all not to touch this amateur, overpriced salon who have no idea of customer service or how to run a business with a bargepole. When I said they have to be cleaned first, the manager gave me the weirdest look, and told me what's wrong. Told her that the lady cutting the hair isn't professional as she didnt divide the hair in segments and she is cutting the hair totally dry and not properly brushed.
