Let's be honest about this place. Yes, it's clean, yes, the pastries are fine, and yes, the tables…read moreare decent for remote work, but none of that matters if the staff treats you with contempt. The coffee itself is unremarkable, average at best, and overpriced for what you get. An 8oz drip coffee runs $3.85, a good 75 cents more than Starbucks (next door inside of Safeway) charges for the same thing. That premium might be forgivable if the service matched it. It doesn't. After a full week of coming in daily, spending money on pastries, crepes, and coffee without a single issue, I ran into a barista on a Saturday who was flat out hostile. No provocation, no explanation, just open disrespect and dismissive attitude, contemptuous facial expressions, the works. It was jarring, and it was enough to erase every positive impression I'd built up over the week.

She was understanding all the time and gave me a bagel, cream cheese and tea every day that I was there. I think the first day I might've seen the owner? I was the lady who always wears the black hat to shield from the sun. Inside is beautiful I love the name "coffee box". It matches the building and it's so easy to always find when you're looking for it. Just look for a really weird, midcentury boxlike, tall building and you'll see it. I do think that their offerings are better than other places which might not be as reliable or open when they say they are. I found coffee box was the best and they're also veteran owned, which is important to me since my ex and my daughter's ex are both 20 year military veterans. Thanks for your service!!
