My complaint is not that people are on call but tell me how safe it is to be called in multiple times during the early morning hours. Not only is it extremely unsafe driving after only a few hours sleep but how good is the care for the patient. I was pleased to discover that I could sort the choices not only by physician specialty but also by gender. Since I was accustomed to a female physician, I wanted to continue with one. After a few calls to practices who said they could not give me an appointment until they received a copy of my medical records, I called the Family Practice Center and asked if any of their physicians were accepting new patients. The staff member stated yes and provided a physician's name. I got an appointment within a week and the office mailed the paperwork to me so I could complete it in advance. I had no trouble locating the practice since a map was included with the paperwork. Imagine my surprise, however, when the physician was male! In my quest for a practice that was accepting patients, I failed to realize that although there were plenty of female physicians in this group, it was not a solely female practice. It worked out fine, however. The staff was pleasant as was the doctor and I felt valued as a patient.

I liked that I was able to book my appointment directly through the MyChart app. I also love that all my blood work/tests show directly through the app as well. The receptionist at the desk was very friendly and checked me in quickly. It was great that I was able to fill out all the paperwork online before arriving so I didn't have to do that while I waited. Sarah, my doctor's assistant is truly a rockstar human and was so much fun to talk to. I'm quite the anxious person, so it's always great to talk to someone who can put you to ease in a stressful environment. I'm feeling super grateful to have insurance and a primary care provider. If you haven't been to a doctor in awhile, go be proactive and look out for your health!

I ask him to help me regain my prescription after my doctor got retired during Covid of being on pain medication for over 20 years. If I agreed to his procedure in the office of him raking in over $260,000 from my medical insurance company. That he would help me write my medication. After looking into how bad this procedure was and that it had a 60% chance of making me crippled. I decided against it. So after another six visits or so. He kicks me out of the office on the fact that he says he is no longer taking Medicaid patients that are in pain. What a lowlife. The office is an absolute shambles I have pictures on my phone I am not sure I'm allowed to show them. But this is where you go and have procedures done. I'm not sure that this is sanitary enough to do certain procedures. The fact that I have to give this guy a star is killing me. He does not deserve anything. Also finding out from pharmacist across the Northern Kentucky region he is one of the doctors that prescribe more than almost any other pain doctor in the region. First thing nurse does is give you a cup. Says doctor will not see you without a urine test. You might be a drug seeker. They have your MRI, CTScan or Xrays but nonetheless, you're a possible drug addict. There is a oxy addict profile and I don't fit it. Doctor sits across the room from me looking at records and asking questions. No exam. Then the games begin. Lots of unnecessary repeat visits to rack up insurance and out of pocket $$$. See the Psychologist (3x)--- nice lady who is actually a MSW not a Psychologist answer a ton of stupid questions about your quality of life on paper, so she can get paid to put them into the computer. Meanwhile, I'm in agnozing constant pain and mostly bedridden living on ibuprofen and tylenol. What quality of life are they asking about? What's the question? Nurse Practioner (2x). She finally gives me small prescription until the pain relieving injection. It's been over a month bleeding $$$$ from my pocket and insurance company. She discovers I have a medicine allergy asks regular nurses (2 different ones) to contact allergy center. They both look right in her face and say "No". After each visit, you have to sit outside an office and wait to be called to pay. Finally, Injection day--requires you to bring a driver and get an IV. Got the injection. Wasn't numbed and No pain relief. Got sent for new CTSCAN and Xrays ($$$) like that's the problem. Go back. It's weeks later. Doctor (maybe he's a doctor) says I have a cyst in my spine as well as disc issues. He wants to search for the cyst and pop it (what?) at the injection visit tomorrow (in his office). Says I will need surgery eventually but at 230lb I'm too large for surgery (what???). BS. I've seen My 600lb life, those people get surgery. Next day, (a friend) waits in her car with son who will drive my car back. They came from work to do me a favor.) I get IV. Tell nurse I only want pain shot not to burst the cyst. Nurse comes back pulls out IV (I'm a hard stick to begin with). Tells me doctor says he aint gonna do the pain shot. Doctor comes in says "I'm sending you to my surgeon." I said "Yesterday, you said that wasn't an option." He says "Well, you won't let me pop the cyst!" I left. They were supposed to schedule surgeon. Never heard from them again. 2 months of constant visits for this and that. Long waits, some more than 2 hours. They even had me scheduled for physical therapy and a nutritionist. PT won't even work with my back problem. This place is a money grabbing joke and he's a quack! You'll be going forever with little to no relief. Meanwhile, still in bed. Missing work. A friend recommended another place. Beautiful facility. Thorough exam and Doctor went over all scans and xrays explained my back problem. No interest in hunting for and bursting a cyst. Said unlikely to find it and puncture it on a good day anyway. 2 weeks later saw his anesthesiologist. No drug test. No special reduction of any daily meds before the procedure. No IV. No driver. No MSW. No Nurse Practitioner. No Physical Therapist. No nutritionist. No surgeon. Got the injection. Immediate relief felt better just walking to the car to DRIVE myself home. Second injection a month later. Relief lasted 8 months no pain or medicine. Still doing great! Don't go to Advance Pain Management. All they MANAGE to do is take your time, money, self respect and leave you suffering.

When I asked the office staff, they reassured me that they were in network with my insurance, and not to worry. A few weeks later, I received a bill for $347. I called the billing department thinking this was a mistake, as this is 3 times higher than the average price for this test, but they informed me that they charge the maximum amount allowed by state regulations and that I should have thought to ask them for an estimate. I told the billing representative that the office staff made it sound like this would be covered by insurance, and she stated "well, that's too bad." The only discount they offer is 10%, IF you pay the bill completely in full. They outright refused to negotiate the price any further, even when I explained that this bill was causing a HUGE financial burden. Please AVOID THIS PRACTICE UNLESS YOU WANT PAY RIDICULOUSLY HIGH SURPRISE BILLS.

Everyone is always incredibly friendly the only issue I've ever had was the wait times you can run into at the Edgewood location but that is to be expected. During my most recent routine visit for a cleaning of both ears, per usual, my doctor made the observation that one of my ears had a cyst on the ear drum. He recommended that I schedule a subsequent appointment for a draining procedure as he didn't have the necessary tools at the current appointment. He then proceeded on with cleaning out the ear he observed the cyst and I went in my way. Upon receiving my bill for the standard services I had received I noticed an additional nearly $170 over the regular price I pay for the twice yearly cleanings I receive. I inquired with the billing department and they inquired with my doctor. He affirmed the charges siting that an additional diagnosis was made. Now had I requested for him to attend to an issue I was not scheduled for, or even to look at an ear he wouldn't have normally been looking at I could try to wrap my head around this. But the idea that he thinks it's appropriate to tack on an extra $170 for noticing something in an ear he was ALREADY LOOKING AT, is laughable. I understand that "Bill 'em for whatever you can," is the current medical mentality, but this will be the last time they bill me. **After going round and round and having the engage the help of some outside influences I was finally able to get my bill correctly.
