I signed up for one year of financial advising with Taylor Wealth Group and although my advisor was…read moregreat and informative during our 1on1s quarterly meetings, I was often frustrated at the lack of communication and follow-up and poor collectivity within the staff. There were multiple times when I would have questions during our quarterly meeting, for my advisor to say she would get back to me, only for me to never hear back again. In the beginning, she was great and super responsive but I noticed a drastic drop in responsiveness after a couple of months. Only when I call to follow up after a week of not hearing back, would I finally get a response. I soon realized that if I did not follow up personally, there wasn't a response at all. This has happened at least 4 times within the year. I even began questioning myself and started googling the normal timeframe an FA is supposed to get back to you but at the end of the day, I should be getting a response without following up. Overall, I liked my advisor and she was helpful in many different ways and was very personable.

Just recently I was looking thru some written correspondence and stumbled upon a HP Financial…read moresettlement letter. This immediately flooded me with the memory of a late Friday afternoon and my niece calling me. I picked up the phone thinking it would be a "catch up" call to her rapidly informing me that a company was looking for me and told her that I was being sued for an outstanding summed owed. I was very surprised as I had no idea what this was pertaining to nor was I aware of any outstanding debt. Then I thought...ah, probably fraud as I can be easily reached and pay my bills. I decided to call the number she gave me and was put in contact with HP Financial. I had the horrible experience of speaking with a woman who raked me over the coals regarding a Verizon bill that I never received. HP Financial bought this very old debt, so old, there was only a few months left to legally do anything about it and proceeded to verbally assault me with what would happen if I did not pay during the call. This included: all of HP Financial court fees, admin fees and interest. Basically tripling the bill and promising to drag it out in court. It was so frightening that I immediately paid the company before even researching the bill. The women would not let me call back on Monday - as she promised to start the legal action on that day and insisted I had to pay during the call. It felt like a shakedown. I am writing this to warn anyone who has to do business with this company. Looking back - what happened to me was unethical and I believe to probably illegal as she would not even provide me with the bill - only the creditor name. Please be sure to contact legal aid or a financial advisor before dealing with this company. Yelp is insisting I give a review - but in my opinion there is not even one star for this company.
