The DCF officer came out and said it was a baseless complaint and closed out the case. This action on Horizon's part shows a complete disregard for the well-being of my mother as well as the caregiver who was unjustly fired as a result. I terminated service and went with a different company. The owner of the company sent me an email stating that she supported the RN's decision to file a false report and didn't see anything illegal about it.

She delivered on everything she promised from day one. My mom and dad required assistance walking, transferring, cooking, bathing, driving and for a number of other activities. They needed care 8 hours a day, 7 days a week. The home care workers Kelly assigned made a huge difference in their lives. Our family is deeply grateful for the high level of commitment from the workers Kelly assigned. Kelly promised that if we ever needed or wanted to change care workers for any reason, she would handle it quickly without any interruption of service. Kelly never failed. After my father passed away, Kelly worked with us to update my mom's care plan and find us a new caring worker who served us very well. My mom loved her home care worker. I can't say enough about my experience with this company, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

The CNA that was sent was pleasant, but committed 2 dangerous medication errors that made my mother quite sick. The CNA later admitted that she was confused by the medications, but chose not to ask for clarification. When this was called to the attention of the owner, he accused me of making false claims. He refused to take any responsibility or to talk to the caregiver to prevent this from happening to anyone else. This demonstrates a complete lack of integrity and is a very dangerous way to conduct a home care business. There are many other home care options in the area that are reputable. Please keep your loved ones safe and do not use this Visiting Angels.
