Their care started for our beautiful mom in her residential home, then at the RCFE when she needed more care, and could not live alone, then due to another stroke, they transferred her to their beautiful hospice home in Bonita for her last days. The care, compassion, professionalism was absolutely amazing. I will be naming names to all Sharp hospice leadership teams in a heartfelt thank you letter on behalf of our family to the East County team, South Bay team and the Hospice House team in Bonita team. ** Please know if you want... a human to pick up the phone, if you want a timely response, if you want the most caring, compassionate, clinical staff AS WELL as admin staff, if you want to know you're loved one is in the very best hands, if you want your loved one to feel safe, if YOU want to feel safe going home for a shower, take a catnap, and maybe even get something to eat in the last days, hours of your loved one, choose Sharp Hospice. Our Hospice team at home was powerful, and they told us when it was time to come to Bonita for the final days. Staffers are specific experts. Nurses bathe, feed, medicate; grief counselors know just what we're going through and how to navigate it; hot line staff calmly handle emergencies. Even volunteers specialize. In this imperfect world, facing the loss of a six-decade husband, I was stunned by how Hospice WORKS!

As my father in law is now approaching 102 (next month), the level of care is now essential and "round the clock". With us living on the East Coast and for my wife's father to be able to remain in his own home, having a fully reliable and conscientious service was not only very important but now has become a true requirement. Because of the commitment and dedication of the owner and a number of also extraordinary staff members, we believe that the care provided has most often been truly excellent. Over now more than 2 years, Assisting Hands has earned our Trust and Confidence. When a caregiver was unavailable, Assisting Hands has always been agile and "there" to assure continuous "on site" coverage, without exception. We thank the owner and a large number of caregivers for their fine efforts, often exceeding high expectations, and delivering a level of service that has permitted my father in law to be able to stay in his home, as he very much wanted and currently desires. Should there be any questions that could be addressed by us, kindly contact the owner of Assisting Hands for our Western, New York contact information. It is true for us that a partnership with an organization such as Assisting Hands works best when there is an active family support person(s) in full contact with the service provider. The owner of Assisting Hands has gone well beyond more than both normal and high expectations to personally do everything possible to provide quality, timely, and proactive service. We have been very impressed and appreciative for the excellent overall personal services received. We very much recognize what Assisting Hands has provided for our family. We are grateful to my wife's sister for finding Assisting Hands and initiating its services, and to Nina for her caring approach in running her business. JGU

Susan was a true gift for my family when my sister and I made the decision to move our mother who…read moreis suffering from Alzheimer's disease from Annapolis, MD, to San Diego, CA. Susan listened to our family story, learning about both who our mother is and what her care needs are. Both of these perspectives were critical to finding the "best fit" community for mom and for us. Susan knows the questions to ask and what she needs to know so she can narrow the search to focus only on communities that are potential matches for the family and individual's care needs. Susan did everything she could with us in advance of visiting communities to make that day easier. She had community info and could answer many of our questions before we even talked to the community's team. And when we met with the community's team, Susan asked questions after my sister and I finished ours to get answers to things we wanted to know and had forgotten. The value of Susan's services for families is exceptional because her fees are paid by the community which a family selects. It's a win-win all the way around and this cost model really benefited our family. We forged a collaborative partnership with Susan to find mom's community without having to worry about what service costs how much. I can't express how grateful and appreciative we are of the time we worked with Susan. In our case, Susan suggested we start with visiting three communities and the first one was a perfect fit for our mom's care and us as a family. Susan even checked in on us after mom moved in and wanted to make sure the community was meeting our expectations (and hers!). Susan did the legwork needed to ensure our mom's comfort and safety, and it lifted so much of the burden my sister and I felt regarding finding a community for mom. Susan receives my HIGHEST recommendation!
