With dozens to choose from, in the specific area we were looking at, definitely made this process even more difficult. Allegro Senior Living was highly recommended to us and when we visited the facility it certainly did not disappoint. We had the privilege of meeting Mary Adams at Allegro who spent a tremendous amount of time with us. We toured the facility, spoke to staff and shared our story. We asked dozens of questions and shared our concerns. Mary was warm, knowledgeable and so transparent about expectations for a loved ones transition to a senior living facility. After visiting many other communities and reviewing our choices, we immediately knew that Allegro Senior Living would be the perfect living arrangement for our mom. The facility is immaculate, nicely appointed, has lovely grounds, is intimate in size and has an abundance of amenities and activities for those that choose to participate. The residents and staff are kind and welcoming. Our mother has been in Allegro for a month and the community has certainly continued to please us. She loves her apartment and raves about the dining selections and quality of the food. The administration, with Erica Cohen at its helm, Angela, head of nursing services and Mary Adams, are all very accessible when we have had questions or concerns. The entire staff has been so helpful to assist in acclimating our mother to her new living arrangement and has made us all feel at ease. Our mother is happy! If you and your family members are looking for a beautiful facility for your loved one, please take time to visit Allegro in Boynton Beach. Though not the newest facility we visited, Allegro Senior Living is definitely the best in the area if you are looking for a wonderful caring community for your loved one.

The residents have small apartments of their own unless they are in memory care where they may share an apartment. There are 3 meals a day, cleaning and laundry service for each resident. There are also varied activities during the day. Plus a beautiful patio. The staff is friendly and ready to give assistance when needed. It is a good choice when looking for a loved one that needs extra care!

I witnessed first-hand the dignity and respect that the staff showed my Dad and the other residents. When my father was there, they took excellent care of him and the staff was wonderful. Without the therapy that my Dad got at Barrington, I doubt he would be walking around today. The aids and nurses were always very attentive and getting fresh air in the Gazebo was an everyday ritual for my Dad. I was also very impressed with their attention to his meals. Dad loves onions, so they always made sure that there were onions on his plate!! My Dad received great care at Barrington. I recommend them very highly.

I was called one evening and told my mom was no where to be found in the facility. Terrified, I sped to the facility and pulled up to 10 police cars outside. Eventually, my mom was found and had been in their facility the entire time! She was locked outside sitting on a bench in the pitch black fast asleep in their outdoor courtyard. She was left for over two hours. One of policeman told me get your mom out of this place. My mom was not cleaned often and had raw red skin in certain areas and was in pain. My mom pushed the help bracelet and on at least 3 occasions it took staff over 45 minutes to come to her apartment, other times, they didn't come at all. Do not believe the woman in admissions. I fell for all the false promises. Many of staff are mean and make fun of the vulnerable seniors. I saw it all.

The Sunday Brunch is a buffet but has a few manned stations... omelets, meat carvings, bagel toasting... nicely done and excellent.

The interiors were all redone and decorated beautifully. My only complaint is that the hallways dont have handrails. Some apartments are a long way from the elevators and residents may need to hold onto something for balance and mobility. Many have electric scooters and more have walkers to assist them. Personally, I wouldn't mind living there as well, when the time comes. I miss HE and the wonderful residents I too became friends with over the years.

CNAs act like they're doing you a favor by responding to your pendant call button. Half the time they pretend they can't understand you. If you yell, and i have a speech impediment, so often it's what i have to do, they will say they're trying to help. But i say, well then get out of your own way. The other day, i was being wheeled across the facility and you'd have thought it was a coffee hour. There was the fierce sense of urgency of maybe someday we'll mosey our way over there.

Residents are mostly quite unwell and seem unhappy /unfriendly. The food is mediocre at best. The building is large, so residents who are a distance from the "activities room" can feel isolated; the design is not conducive to interacting and making friends. One of the two main lobbies, on the far side of the building, has been permanently closed. This entrance is unavailable to residents whose apartments are near it; instead, they have to walk a long way through the whole building to get to their apartments.

I relocated my loved one a year ago from her home in California to the Memory Care Facility. The Health and Wellness Director, Rosita Taylor, met with us and held both of our hands through the transition. Throughout the year, Rosita has remained a constant in my loved one's care. Helen Altieri, the Executive Director, helped me switch my loved one's health insurance from Kaiser, which is only in California, to one that is in Florida. Helen's door is always open if I have any questions. The nurses who work in the memory care unit, Dorothy and Gurdy, are compassionate and loving and ensure my loved one is properly cared for each day. I've witnessed them and the nurse's aides, hold my loved one's hand and walk and talk with her. The Clare Bridge Program Manager, Yvette Montoya, has made a drastic improvement in my loved one's life. Yvette knows how to interact with dementia patients and improve thier quality of life and has even gone the extra mile to set up a support group for family members. Every staff member has gone out of their way to help me cope with the struggles of being responsible for a loved one with dementia. The receptionists, Lovely, Luz, and Alyssa, welcome me by name each time I visit and ask how I am doing. This past year has been an emotional rollercoaster for me personally and I thank everyone at Brookdale West Boynton Beach for their love and compassion. I do not believe any other Assisted Living Facility would have provided the same kind of support that my loved one and I have received here. I strongly recommend Brookdale West Boynton Beach!

It's very clean and beautiful and the meals look great. The memory care manager does exercises on a blackboard and I have never seen anything like this done at a memory care before. She challenges the people with all these questions and interactions. I've watched a few times and I appreciated how she changes it up so everyone can participate and answer the questions. My dad was on the lower functioning side and I wish I knew about a place like this when we were looking for a place for him.
