JoAnn took her time and in no way rushing in styling an updo for me and also with my girlfriend that worked very well with our preferred hairstyles.  Also, based on her expertise, she suggested hairstyles best suited to our face shapes, which was in sync with our chosen styles. Mariela was nice and made me feel comfortable. Unfortunately, it is quite obvious she lacks experience and certifications. I often do my own makeup but I hired someone for my graduation so I wouldn't have to worry. I paid $95 + $10 tip even though the makeup was quite awful. If I'm paying that much, I expect the MUA to use high quality products but Mariela used products I can get at CVS or Target (like a Maybelline foundation). There's nothing wrong with using drug store products but if you're charging $100, I expect better. I asked Mariela for a specific eye look and showed a picture for reference. The look I got consisted of uneven eyeliner lines and smudged colors. My eyebrows were squared and uneven. When she handed me a mirror after she was done, I wanted to cry because I knew I wasn't gonna have enough time to redo it myself before my graduation. She asked if anything needed fixing and I didn't have the heart to tell her everything needed fixing. I still tipped her because I would've felt embarrassed otherwise. Below are pics of what I asked and what I got. I'm not tryna to ruin this girls business, she was every nice but it was CLEAR she lacks the necessary experience to be charging so much.
