Ella in New Port Richey is such a fantastic spot! Located right on Railroad Square, it has wonderful outdoor seating that would be great day or night. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday, and while it wasn't super busy (maybe four tables), the service was incredible. Our server was very attentive, gave us great recommendations for off-menu specials, and suggested the mussels as an appetizer, which turned out to be a hit. One detail I really loved was the wine menu. It's wonderfully simple, offering traditional choices like dry or sweet red, and dry or sweet white. It immediately took me back to the culture we enjoyed on our trip to Greece, unlike most Greek places that cater strictly to Americanized wine lists. As soon as we walked in, the kitchen smelled amazing. We started with the white wine mussels served with pita, and it was a generous portion easily big enough for two to share. The sauce had incredible flavor, and you could actually taste the white wine! For the main course, I went with the $14 lunch bowl special. The portion size was huge! I chose lentils as my base, opted for the beef and lamb protein, and loaded it up with basically all the toppings and tzatziki sauce. They even brought out additional Greek dressing on the side. Ela is located in the historic downtown of New Port Richey Florida an authentic Greek restaurant. Me and my husband shared the Seafood platter with mussels shrimp and clams serve over pasta cooked with perfect olive oil fresh garlic and herbs with lemon potatoes. Loved the taste of the seafood platter. We tried ed the falafel fried balls for first time delicious made from chicken peas served with a dip. Received a complimentary dessert just right not too sweet Balaclava was delicious. Tiana was a great server and welcoming and friendly. The restaurant offer in door and out door seating. Very cute place in downtown New Port Richey! The food was delicious and the service was awesome! We started out with cocktails that were displayed so cute! Then we opted for the saganaki (Greek fried cheese) and some lemon chicken soup. Both were very good. ELA Greek is just what downtown New Port Richey needed! The service is personal- they treat you like family! The menu is extensive and prices are amazing! The restaurant is in a great spot just off Railroad Square. The seating inside or out is ample but they can get very busy- make reservations when there are events downtown at the theater or Sims Park! We have had a dozen meals here so far, and everything has been cooked to perfection, seasoned beautifully (just add their Greek dressing if you need some extra pizzazz!), and the portions are huge! My favorite: Moussaka My hubs favorite: Gyro pita with Greek seasoned fries! Of course, they do baklava right, but if you want something to delight your tastebuds before you and your to-go boxes head home, try the galaktoboureko (say "canigetabootycall" real fast...that's how our server taught us to say it). It's a great location and the staff was friendly. The menu has a nice variety of items. We were disappointed that they didn't offer a side Greek salad. The food was good, fresh and hot. This is one of New Port Richey's hidden gems. Directly across the street from Richey Suncoast Theatre it's a perfect place for dinner before the show. It's also a short walk to Sims Park, where we walked off dinner. The restaurant is cozy inside and lovely outside, too. We had several dishes, and all were satisfyingly good. The lemon potatoes were something Husband and I had never tasted. They were incredible. Our gyro platters were perfection - the meat was not greasy, was tasty, and there was so much that we had to take some home for lunch the next day. Our boys had the wings and the lamb shanks. I've stopped in for lunch twice and the food been fresh and flavorful. I got the chicken kebabs with rice and salad. The 2nd time I got the rice bean and beef/lamb bowl. Both were filling and I took half home for another meal. We shared a piece of their orange cake and a few bites was enough. It was very sweet and rich so a taste was perfect. Glad we all shared it. Five stars isn't enough! We are from Nebraska and came to Florida for a mother/son vacation we'd been planning for eight months. Instead, within hours of arriving, I ended up hospitalized and needing emergency surgery. Somehow, in the middle of that mess, we found ELA! Greek Cypriot and OH. MY. GOODNESS. The food is INCREDIBLE. We ordered delivery to the hospital twice, and it genuinely gave us something to look forward to during a pretty miserable week. I messaged them simply to tell them how amazing their food was. Their response? They asked if I was still in the hospital because they wanted to send food for us AND my nurses. I was discharged before it arrived, but they still followed through and fed the hospital staff who had cared for me. After I was released, ELA! was one of our first stops. We had to meet the people behind the kindness, and they are every bit as amazing as their food. Seriously, GO FOR THE FOOD. Stay because these are just genuinely wonderful people. My wife and I have eaten at several of what are considered to be the best Greek restaurants at the "Sponge Docks" in Tarpon Springs, (Greek Village) Florida, and deservingly so. Without naming them individually I must say that they definitely knocked it out of the park. Well, tonight, Friday 7/31/2026, we just ate dinner at another absolutely superb Greek restaurant which might possibly be the best of the best, the G.O.A.T., only it wasn't at the sponge docks. It wasn't even in Tarpon Springs. We ate at a wonderful little Greek restaurant nestled in the middle of downtown New Port Richey Florida. Both our palates were very well pleased with our zucchini patties appetizer, setting the pace served with four delicately fried croquettes stuffed with cheese and fresh herbs. After thoroughly enjoying that delight, we were served with both our main courses. Hers being a chicken gyro platter served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pita bread, tzatziki, and lemon potatoes, and I opted for the moussaka, my favorite Greek dish. All that I can add to this review is that if you want to truly experience the heart and soul of the Mediterranean's finest cuisine, book yourself a table at Ela's Greek Restaurant, downtown New Port Richey. Independent, and locally owned by members of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. It was our first visit, but will not be our last. The chicken souvlaki bowl was a winner, and you can combine it anyway you want. Choose your base, choose your protein, choose your Veggies, sauce, etc. I love the fact that you can get actual grilled lamb on your pita for a gyro!! Think thinly sliced ribeye for a cheesesteak, but the Greek edition. Yes, you still have the option of the usual gyro beef and lamb mix, but having the option to upgrade and have thinly sliced grilled lamb it is not something you see very often. Our service was excellent, and the waitress was very knowledgeable. You can tell that the Taziki is fresh made. If you opt for the lunch bowl, just add a grilled pita.
