The food here is inconsistent. I had the chicken chimichanga on three separate occasions and they all tasted different. The cheese dip (queso) is watered down and doesn't have any real flavor to it. I placed a to go order on my last visit and was told it would be ready in fifteen minutes. When I arrived, I still ended up waiting what seemed like another 15 minutes. I'm convinced they didn't start on my order until I got there. The quality of the food was as if it was rushed. The chimichanga wasn't fried hard and was soft on the outside. This is place is horrible(THAT INCLUDES BOTH THE FOOD & CUSTOMER SERVICE(MANAGEMENT is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!) The food was bland and the cooks either can't read an order ticket or just made whatever they wanted to regardless of what we ordered. My order was a to-go order and it was completely messed up. My mother and I both order enchilada meals...they both were not properly filled. When I placed a call to the manager to inform him of their error he was very unprofessional and rude(Actually said "What ever man".) He refused to make the kitchen error right. The restaurant dining area isn't well maintained which means you can already imagine what the kitchen area looks like. This place is amazing! I used to come all the time when I was high school. They closed and re-opened back. The food is so good! I always get a P5 mixed with steak or a super quesadilla mixed with both chicken and steak alongside a Peach margarona! The service is also good as well, I never have any problems with that. After being closed for an extended period of time remodeling El Toro has finally reopened. The place is very large and can usually handle large groups. This place is very popular with the teenage crowd as they are usually fast and cheap. Despite the low prices the food is actually pretty good and seems to be fresh. I have a hard time ordering anything besides my usual fajita nachos chicken. If ordering as an entree get the half sized order because the full order is just too much. read more

I just moved here from Starkville, MS where my favorite mexican restaurant is La Terraza. I was pleasantly surprised to sit down in this place and see the exact menu and everything right in front of me. The waitress Whitney was polite and quick to take my order and get it out to me. I ordered one of my favorites from my old city and it came out with the same great quality and flavor I'm used to. Finding this little piece of home here made this transition a little easier. I asked to order a drink at 10pm, I was told they were unable to serve alcohol after 10 PM. 15 minutes later another gentleman walked at the bar and ordered a large alcoholic beverage, Without difficulty. My waitressed ask the manager if he would make my drink while he was making the other persons drink. She was told, no. 10 minutes later I noticed him making 2 additional drinks. read more

This is place is horrible. The food is bland and overcooked and the manager is very unprofessional and rude. I ordered a quesadilla and the order came back with no cheese (like how do you not put cheese in a quesadilla). I went to the bar because the waiter did not come back to our table. The manager was sitting at the bar but refused to turn around and acknowledge me standing there. The waitress he was talking to even told him I was standing there, so he mouthed something to her. I initially only wanted them to fix the order, but after this treatment from the manager, I slammed the plate on the bar and canceled it altogether. When my party and I were leaving the same manager smirked at me while my friend was paying for her tab. I will never step foot in that place again. I have been here before because my friend from out of town wanted to go there. Even then, the food was mediocre at best, never consistent. The plates and silverware weren't clean either( had to ask for plastic fork). The only consistency is bad service! read more

There was glass in my wife's fajitas. Management was not too concerned. They didn't offer to comp the meal. Just a replacement. Lucky for them she is not confrontational. They also overcharged us on a sweet tea. Service is usually pretty bad, but the food is pretty good. Just make sure to ask them to hold the glass. It wasn't a small piece either. About the size of a pea. A ragged, gut perforating pea. We will update if we have any abdominal pain or blood in our stool. Maybe a nice xray picture with the kids. read more

I've been eating at El toro for years now. Out of everywhere I've traveled, El Toro is still my favorite Mexican restaurant. I always get the El Toro Combo (an enchilada, burrito, taco, chile relleno, rice and beans) and it's under $10. Absolutely delicious. The service is also always friendly and they get the food out quick. The only downside I can think of is I've had better margaritas. read more

Worst dining experience ever. Our uncle stopped to visit and we thought we'd get some Mexican food. The waitress was rude as can be. The uncle asked for fajita tacos and she was like I don't know we have lots of tacos so I had to point out that they had fajita tacos on the menu. Then get my food and there is GLASS in it. Glass. Told a server, he went to get a manager. Our server came up and said sorry, do you want a new plate? Uncle asked where the manager was and she actually asked if we needed to talk to him. He finally came over and was like sorry? Don't know how that happened. And that was it. Then they over charged us for drinks. I never make a fuss at restaurants but the lack of care was absolutely ridiculous and they are lucky it happened to me and not someone else because I guarantee most people wouldn't have been nearly as nice.
