By far the best authentic Mexican in the city. I stop by frequently to get my taco fix, and they are a hit every time. Onions and cilantro always fresh, chorizo perfectly crispy (not greasy) and tortillas nice and warm. I will happily recommend this to people looking for good Mexican in Little Rock. We visited the market/bakery portion of the restaurant. They have lots of variety of pantry items, meats, and cheese. They also have a large selection of baked goods. The prices are also very reasonable, especially on the baked goods. The prices on the baked goods are much cheaper than you would get at most speciality dessert places. We did not try the restaurant this time, but will definitely go back and check it out! read more

Great find, it's a market with a Carnicería and restaurant. They have fresh pan dulce and bolillos. Ordered 2 wet burritos. They were really good. The burritos on the inside have beans, choice of meat, fried rice. On the outside it will have sour cream, lettuce, and pico. read more

There is a Mexican bakery, grocery, and restaurant rolled into one location. The baked goods look *heavenly* (and were quite hard to resist) and there were some harder to find cuts of meat in the butcher case. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. The homemade salsa was flavorful and the perfect level of hotness and the chips were fresh and delightfully fried without being oily. They had a fantastic version of camarones a la diablo - the sauce was addictively smokey. I was super excited to find seasoned ribs on the menu, because I don't see these in many places. They're beef short ribs that have been cut lengthwise, perpendicular to the bone (Korean style) and marinaded in spices. This style of rib is easy to overcook, because they're so thin, but these were juicy and tender. read more

Food was not bad but it's definitely more expensive than its rated, prices were changed on the menu so probably recently changed d/t overall market increase, which is expected. We spent around $40 for 7 tacos and a quesadilla which usually is around half the price. Other than that, service was good and food was decent. read more

I'm a Mexican food snob of the worst variety -- I'll admit it. As a Southern California transplant, I have had a really hard time finding Mexican food in Little Rock that lives up to my (admittedly high) expectations. I was super stoked when hubs took me here for supper last Friday. . .I'm 4 months pregnant, and in addition to being ridiculously large, I'm also beset by random cravings. This evening it was tacos, so instead of Tacos For Life, he suggested we check this place out. Next to marrying me, this might be his best decision ever. . El Torito is a little tienda attached to a restaurant -- it's not huge, but the market has a huge selection, from baked goods to fresh meat. I ordered the burrito de lengua, and it was huge and delicious. They actually had horchata on the menu (unlike most Mexican restaurants I've been to here). The lengua was fresh, tender and flavorful -- the burrito had avocados, crema, and it was perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered 3 tacos and reported they were good. We also had an app of chorizo and queso -- also muy bueno! We took some chicken tacos home for my mom, and she said they were amazing. The salsa is on point, and it's also worth mentioning. The service was excellent -- prompt and pleasant. I've been raving at work this week. I'm a convert and I'll definitely be back!! read more

A hidden gem, SO GOOD! Ordered the combo fajitas, me and my friend shared it and still had some left over! The meat is well seasoned and tender. I knew about this little Mexican store since I moved to Little Rock 8 years ago when it was on Bowman next to the now Larry's Pizza. Now it grew! They have fresh bread, and good papaya. Seriously, what a GEM. This isn't cheese-smothered Tex Mex, you can get real tacos here. At 2 bucks a pop, you'll want to try every meat they have, smothered in freshly grilled onions, cilantro and lime wedges. There's a little butcher shop in the back and the meats are so fresh and flavorful. Their tortas and burritos are also excellent, and my husband loves the Camarones y peña. Good cheese dip and the freshest guac I've ever had (although I ask for a few lime slices with mine), and both food are very cheap compared to the yuppie "Mexican food" restaurants around Little Rock. The place itself is also a bakery and a store with the restaurant inside, to the right with some tables set out for service. You can get all kinds of cool baked goods, meats, imported Mexican goods, candles, pinatas, etc, but seriously... try it out!!! read more

Having recently moved from Memphis where the taqueria options are endless and the Hispanic grocery products are available anywhere, it's been an adjustment having more limited options here in Little Rock. We decided to go exploring for a new taqueria to try and not only did we find a treasure, there's a Panaderia and mercado included! This is a 3 for 1! My husband ordered the mixed Fajita's and I ordered tacos (barbacoa, al pastor, and asada). Our food came out very fast, and it was WONDERFUL! Both dishes were large portions for the price. The dishes themselves were wonderfully flavored. My favorite tacos were the al pastor (pork with special spices and pineapple) and the barbacoa (Mexican BBQ, traditionally goat, but could be beef as well). The carne asada was great, but I've had better in Memphis. The red and green salsas accompanying the tacos were both equally delicious. My husband ordered a mango agua Fresca which he loved and I ordered tamarind, which I loved. This will definitely be a "go to" place for us. I highly recommend anyone to give this place a try! read more
