I will NEVER go here again, if I could give it no stars I would!!! I ordered 3 ground beef tacos and received the wrong tacos, so I took them to the guy who was working @7:00 on 9/10/18 and who took my order, and told him these aren't the tacos I ordered, I ordered ground beef tacos he then starts arguing with me telling me that's what I ordered, like I didn't know what kind of tacos I ordered, and then tells me "I can't replace all those tacos", it was 3 tacos!!! So I said well can I get my money back, I don't want them, and he refused. So basically if they mess up your order your stuck paying for whatever they decide to give you. We always try to support small community restaurants since this is where you find great food but in this case the lack of anything resembling customer service leaves me no choice but to recommend that you avoid this place like the plague. If they have no concern for customer interaction, I hate to imagine what they deem fit to serve as acceptable food. I work in the Offices next door & would get food to go every Taco Tuesday. The food is pretty good but the service is HORRIBLE. The older Hispanic woman at the front is serving more dirty looks than she is tacos. Yelling at all the poor workers, and god forbid you ask for ONE extra salsa, she will act like you just asked her for gold and stand there and argue about it. We used to frequent this place for the machaca burritos. Today we walked in and were ignored by the woman at the front for at least 5 minutes. She never acknowledged us the entire time we stood at the counter. She delivered an order and then took a phone call order as we stood there waiting for her to take our order. We decided to leave when she put down the phone and then turned around to talk to the woman in the kitchen. She never spoke a word to us. Needless to say, we left and will not be returning. Wanted to try this place because numerous people on the What's Up Corona FB page recommended it, as the best place for tacos. I tried the carnitas and shredded beef tacos. I liked my carnitas taco, it was flavorful and the meat was crispy. The shredded beef was ok, nothing amazing, like I was looking for. The carne asada and chicken tacos were also ordered....both got just an average review at my table. All agreed the hot sauce was good, though. I also thought their prices were a little high....perhaps on Taco Tuesdays they offer a deal but not on a Sunday. I am so glad I decided to try this place. I actually meant to go to the little place across the street but ended up here by accident. It is a small restaurant only about 8 tables in there. It was almost noon and already crowded. They were pretty fast didn't have to wait long to order or to get my food. I took mine to go since it was so busy and no seats available. I got a chicken taco and a chicken tostada for just over $4 but the chicken tostada was supposed to only be a bean tostada so that's all I got charged for but I didn't realize it until I got home. Thanks for the free upgrade from bean to chicken by the way. And one thing is for sure they do not skimp on the ingredients I had tons of chicken on both the tostada and the taco. I have been coming to this place for the past 20+ years.... The food has always been great... But their salsa is TO DIE FOR!!! I cannot say enough good things about it. It is flavorful, spicy and delicious!!! I LOVE IT!!! Beans and rice are great, their 'Burellenó' (a chile rellenó wrapped in a bean and cheese burrito) is yummy, taquitos, shredded beef tacos and cheese enchiladas and their homemade chips are also favs of mine. Disclaimer: I have a serious bean and cheese burrito addiction. So beans are the most important ingredient at any Mexican food restaurant I patronize. The first time I went to El Torero I was not super impressed. I went after the lunch rush so the beans were a bit dry. But there was just something magical about the beans that made me want to give this place another shot. They use a very unique and distinct spice in their re-fried beans that I have not experienced at any other restaurant. And it is delicious! So obviously I had to go back. And this time it was fantastic! I went around noon so the beans were fresh and perfect. I really love this place. Just a sweet, authentic taco stand. No frills but great food and service. I also really love their hot sauce! If you stay and dine in the restaurant they give you a huge container of it. I really appreciate that service because I love hot sauce. Just an FYI, the portions are HUGE! Great deal for the money. I get 2 meals out of the bean & cheese burrito. My friend got the famed burrelleno and it was massive! She also really enjoyed it. Was craving a carne asada burrito and must say I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't horrible, but for the kind of reviews this place got I expected more. The beans are not what everyone says they are, but they are pretty good. What bothered me the most was the fat in the carne asada meat. Bland... Ordered the specialty dish today for lunch, The Burelleno. Sounds like a great idea, a chile relleno inside a burrito, but sadly the execution of said burrito left me with a bland taste in my mouth. The beans inside the burrito ruined the taste, metallic , bland rosaritas canned refried beans. The chile relleno was mostly egg while the cheese was a generic cheddar instead of the authentic queso fresco used in real chile rellenos. The service was absolutely terrible, I had ordered chips to munch on but was forgotten by the cashier. This place is more or so a Tex-Mex restaurant, it caterers to customers of a weaker palate. Here's the real scoop on this place... My cousin used to own the joint and was subsequently allowed to gain invaluable insight of the ins and outs of the place... Listen, even though the owners have changed the recipes have not, They have been handed down from owner to owner. For all you that say the place is going downhill you obviously don't know what you're talking about. The hot sauce is the best of any fast food mexican place... Hands down! The hard shell chicken tacos are also very delicious, especially when you add that sauce. Was never really impressed with anything else as the shredded cheese seems to be low quality that's melted onto your food using the microwave so don't expect much there. Food was mediocre. I got the carne Assad burrito wet.... but it didn't come wet and I just dealt with it when I got it. Asked to add guacamole didn't taste any in the burrito. They told us even though it was the right address on the coupon, the spelling of the restaurant in the book had an extra "R" and they did not authorize this coupon.
