The fajitas are fabulous. The service is great Happy Hour beer and margarita prices are amazing.

Our first server did not speak much English and got our drinks. The frozen margaritas were on special that day. The chips and salsa arrived. The chips are thick in the salsa was a little runny, but they were OK. In English speaking gentlemen took our order and improvised it a bit to what we were asking for. We're staying in Clinton (visiting from PA) and found ourselves craving Mexican food. After scouring Yelp for reviews, we decided on El Tepame. We called to place a takeout order and the food was ready quickly. Everything we ordered was delicious. We got: a pork carnitas chimichanga, a taco salad, enchiladas supremas, quesadilla tempame, a side order of two chile rellenos, a side order of 3 beef tacos (hard shell), and enchiladas Jalisco. For an order this size we got four bags of chips and four containers of salsa, which was a nice surprise since we only receive one of each when we order this much food at home. The food was good and the takeout service was fast. No menu online so it complicated things a bit. We had tacos, enchiladas, chips and salsa. The chili had good flavor with no heat, the salsa was light on cilantro which was awesome! We are from NM so this is a bit different than what we are use to but we will visit again when the longing for chili gets to us. read more

The food is delicious- most of the time the guys that work there are pretty friendly, there's one or two that's kind of arrogant- but it's delicious food- so we deal w it. I guess when ur food is that good, you have a right to be arrogant..? they also have a patio to sit at that's screened in, which is nice on warm summer nights. We always get the fajita chicken, steak and shrimp nachos, and the shredded chicken chimichangas, and the big bowl of cheese dip! read more

It's kind of a dive looking spot, but the food is quite good. I think they've moved away from some authenticity in the dishes, but that may be due to COVID food shortages. It was very tasty - the appetizer salsa had good flavor and mild spice. I don't recall what exactly we ordered as entrées , but it was all delicious. I was very excited to try this place and sadly disappointed. We went last week for an early dinner and the service was mediocre. The waiter was very friendly and nice but not at all attentive. We waited 30 minutes to pay after finishing eating and having no drink refills. I ordered a vegetarian meal that came with a cheese enchilada and a bean burrito. The bean burrito was just a tortilla with refried beans in it, no cheese or anything else which is a first for me. I order this a lot at other places and it is never just beans. Then the enchilada was a tortilla with just cheese, no red or green sauce on top. We ordered a cheese dip to start and that was good but the meals were a huge disappointment. read more

I ate here for the first time a month ago. Since then I have been here on a weekly basis. The food is authentic, excellent Mexican. I have a big appetite, but have never left hungry at all. To beat it all, the value is incredible! I don't see how they stay open considering the prices and quantity of the food! All you can eat tacos, burritos, and enchiladas for $5.99. ARE YOU SERIOUS? However, the first portion is so large, I can never order more. I have purposely routed work and pleasure to be near El Tepame during the day. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I've been to this restaurant many many times with family and friends. The salsa is really good and the perfect amount of spicy. I never have to wait very long for my food and it's always delicious. They are usually pretty busy so the waiters don't have alot of time to come back around to see if we need anything other then that great Mexican restaurant. read more

Decent Mexican joint. Service is questionable at best but the have drink specials and food is fairly priced. Not the best place to eat but good for a beer and queso. Also found a plastic bag in one of our drinks and they didn't seem to care or think that was odd. read more

The food is as I remember from Mexico, the lady that served us from from Jalisco and was the best waitress I have experienced in quite some time. Parking is very easy, the food is top quality and the portions are easily big enough. The restaurant is brightly painted and in a good state of repair. Easily the best Mexican restaurant I have been to in TN so far. A solid five star choice. The flan, yes the humble flan, is thick and creamy and is an amazing example of restraint. Personal favorites from the menu are the Shredded Chicken Nachos, The All You Can Eat Special (Your choice of hard or soft shell tacos, a burrito, and an enchilada; served with rice and refried beans... around 6 bucks.) the Taco Salad, and my wife's favorite, the Cheese Steak Burrito.
