My wife and I go to this location fairly regularly and have never been disappointed. The food quality is always a good as it gets in any of the local Mexican style restaurants and better than most. They always treat us well and the service has never been anything but exceptional. I have a favorite there and it is Carnitas. It is always good never greasy and the rice and refried beans are very good. My wife almost always orders the special dinner and has never been disappointed. I must say I'm sad that I'm leaving and this place was sssooo close to where I stayed. The food was surprisingly good I went t out on a limb. I normally eat extremely healthy always sticking to salads but decided to try the pork enchiladas. They were Fantastic! DELISHOUS the pork was plentiful. Not overly greasy. The rice perfectly cooked & I never eat refried beans but I did try a little bit of their refried beans & they were also great!!! Was really excited to try this place. Very nice atmosphere. Very colorful and nice music playing. Seats and booths are decorated with colorful Mexican scenes. I appreciated the way they served the salsa. In a little carafe and you pour what you want. The taco was good. The shell held up well to the ground beef. The taco had lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. The enchilada wasn't my favorite. I didn't like the sweetness of the sauce and the cheese was too runny. Reminded me of the enchilada I had In Indiana. Rice was good. I started feeling sick and had to leave. Not sure if it was the food or something else. I was really sick to my stomach by the time I got back to the hotel (5min away). read more

After reading zzhe reviews, I had high hopes for this restaurant and frankly I was disappointed, but my wife enjoyed her dinner. We got there around 6PM and we were told that there would be a 10 to 20 minute wait. We were seated in about 10 minutes. Chips, warm! Salsa, good. Queso, good. In a wide bow which was nice. Happy hour pitcher of lime margaritas on the rocks... the disappointment. They should add tequila at least to the margarita. I was just in this evening with a group of friends and while we were there the waitress cut my friend off after two beers, saying he was drunk and had been drinking before he came in. When in reality, she was mad because we were eating for too long (1.5-2hrs) and she wanted us to leave her section. My friend is one of the most responsible and kind hearted people I know and this waitress AND the manager were so disrespectful, humiliating, and insulting to him that I will never come here again. What a great surprise. Best Mexican we've had along our travels in a LONG time. The plates may look like your average typical Mexican place but the food was fresh fresh fresh!! Salsa had tons of flavor enough heat for my husband and I added a little hot sauce but it didn't need slot. Servers and staff all smiles and the place was hopping for the lunch crowd. Pretty authentic Mexican food. I had a margarita it was good. The chips and salsa were good says one basket per order which was fine with us. I had shrimp fajitas and my husband had carne asada which was a little tough. He also said the carne could have had better flavor or seasoning. The service was good. If we both had the carne asada it would be a 3 star but I thought my shrimp fajitas were good. read more

Won't be back the table was wiped down between customers by a three yr old from the way it looked. Offered no refill by unattentive young man that only showed himself to bring ck and say he was sorry for the service due to too many call ins.... BS! But more importantly than that is the food I ordered enchiladas which were totally nasty had a red chili type sauce that was sweet tasting covered up with lettuce on top and the nastiest bland refried beans and rice EVER. First time visiting Habaneros at the recommendation of the KOA campground nearby. They describe it as phenomenal and based on our quick visit we agreed. I had the steak fajita taco salad, kind of half expecting a taco salad with a few strip of fajita steak on it. I was wrong. This was a large fresh order of fajitas right off the grill, and the serving size was huge. This is a large place and well run. The greeter and wait staff were very helpful and made for a great experience. read more

They state that "these options help consumers maintain CDC guidelines on social distancing while still enjoying a meal from their favorite restaurant. Plus, these services are safer for employees as well as customers." GrubHub says that "Curbside Pickup is a safe way to pick up orders from select restaurants allowing you to keep a safe distance from the restaurant staff and other delivery partners at pick up."  Similarly, Entrepreneur.com states that "Curbside pickup protects customers and employees, as it limits the amount of person-to-person contact." The repetition you may notice in these three examples is the word "Safe." Safety for Customers and Employees. What kind of a business would argue that this is a very important aspect of doing business. In fact, the safety of the people doing business is probably the most important aspect. I would love to see any business run successfully without employees or customers. Impossible right? We believe in supporting local business. During these strange times we have tried to do our best to do just that. Curbside pickup has been a useful tool to allow us to do that. As noted above it has also been a useful tool for businesses to safely provide their services in such times which have caused some businesses to close their doors. Read my past reviews and you'll see that for the most part, our experiences at Habanero's have been positive with only a few customer service issues causing problems on a couple occasions. Casting those aside we decided to call in a curbside order for dinner tonight. Oops, not so fast! The employee who answered the phone said "Sorry, we are to busy tonight and aren't offering curbside pickup." We were just pulling into the parking lot, as this was a last minute decision, and were going to wait. They were busy, this was true. In fact the front area was packed with people. Many of which were unmasked or improperly masked. You know, the ignorant people who feel it important to where their mask below their mouth to prevent spreading the dreaded "Chin Covid." Keep in mind, this would be the same crowd that a customer walking in to pick up a to go order would have to navigate through to get to the counter. Let's also keep in mind that the same 1 employee it would take to walk an order out the door is the same 1 employee that would wait on a table of customers, and the same 1 employee it would take to bag up a to go order for a customer to walk in and pick up. No more time and no more effort. Just safer. Now, not all businesses have to offer curbside pickup, it is not a requirement. However, Habanero's does offer it, I have used it recently. To offer it when slow and not when busy is back asswards. Social distancing is harder with more people. This was apparent tonight just by looking at the packed entrance and the packed dining room area full of unmasked people in close proximity. In fact, looking through the windows of Habaneros tonight was like looking at a perfect visual snapshot of why Knoxville, TN is at the top of the Covid list at the writing of this review. Webster couldn't define blind ignorance any better that this image. This Habanero's location has many 5 star reviews. I myself have rated them 5 stars which is why tonight was such a dissapointment for me. Tighten up Habanero's. Remove your cabeza from your culo and get back to business as it was in the beginning. read more

Very good restaurant and so convenient to the KOA campground. Shrimp Fajitas ( 5 large shrimp) were great though the guacamole that came with them was a scant 2T. Chicken fajitas very good as well. The grand marnier margaritas, (NOT premade in a batch) were pretty darn good, even though made with a sour mix and not fresh lime juice. All in all, a very enjoyable meal with very friendly and helpful wait staff and would return again. read more

On a recent trip to Norris a group of us stopped here for lunch and it was awesome! This location was formerly an antique shop. Now it is a very well decorated Mexican restaurant. I had shrimp and scallops Fajita and it was well prepared and delicious. This restaurant is right off interstate 75 the Norris exit. When in that area I would highly recommend this as a stop. read more
