Great little restaurant. Don't let the waiter disuade you from coming. Food is authentic Spain. Reasonably priced. Hidden gem.

We were disappointed by…read morethe first establishment we went to, as they stopped service food an hour prior to our arrival. The staff there recommended this place, which sat less than 10 minutes away via uber. When we got here, we found a bar and grill with a lively presence. Most of the patrons were locals of Polanco. We were able to find seating despite the place being busy. We sat on one of the outside tables, and ordered drinks and coffee while we decided what to order. We decided to get a cold cut platter, which we ended up regretting. It was not appetizing at all, and I recommend steering clear from it. The girlfriend ordered some shrimp, which was so-so. My order, the hamburger with fries, was the best tasting. The burger was done well, and the fries were very tasty. The coffee hit as expected. The girlfriend ordered an apperol, but she did not like it due to it being overly sour. She opted for a different drink, which she found it ok. I have to dock several stars because the service was very slow, even for a busy place. They had us waiting for along time, and no they were not understaffed. This, and the fact that my order was the only delicious plate out of everything we ordered, makes this a 2-star rating. They need to work on their timeliness, not prep the shrimp to blandly, and cut the cold cut platter out of their menu completely, then they'd be on the road to improvement.

Two for one margaritas or Daqueries was an offer we couldn't pass up. You would be hard pressed to find a promotion like this further up on the avenue. We both ordered two margaritas and they were pretty strong margaritas, not watered down at all. We convinced ourselves to drink slow and not gulp it down too quickly. The ambiance was upbeat with the 80's songs playing though out most of the night. This place is low-key and not too rowdy.

It is so welcoming and the staff are so nice. The menu is all fresh ingredients, and organic or natural mezcals and wines. I really liked the Tartar de Cecina Yacapixtla, and the last mezcal on the menu (the name escapes me). It is more or less similar menu prices to the US, but I think the space and presentation are worth the higher cost. The chef is also there to answer any questions about the menu. Much of the staff speaks English, and they are patient if you try to speak Spanish as a foreigner! I did not order a cocktail, but they looked fancy and delicious. If you are around, give it a try!

Only had drinks so can't speak to the food but the cocktails were delicious. My husband doesn't drink so they made him a really creative mocktail and I had the White Calypso cocktail which was amazing. Chatted one of the owners briefly and apparently the cocktails were created by a partner who used to create the cocktail menu for Pujol. Seems like it would be a really fun spot on the weekend. They also have Negroni Wednesday but sadly we're leaving tomorrow! Will definitely come back next time we're in Roma Norte.

We took Beef Tartar for appetizer. It looked like they have it in France except for it was served with hard toasts instead of hot fries. And tasted more like a fish tartar, what I mean is that they marinated the meat with too much of lemon juice and other ingredients that go better for the fish dishes and covered the flavor of the meat here. I'd put more olive oil, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and an egg yolk, no any lemon at all. Paella with all peeled seafood was delicious. Good amount of shrimps, fish, mussels, clams and even octopus -all fresh and soft. I think they used not Arborio rice, but it looked like Jasmin rice to me. And added roasted bell peppers gave more aromas to the dish. Filet with a Roquefort sauce was tender and mild, delicate flavor, cooked to our liking - rare. It was served with grilled vegetables. They have a lot of traditional Spanish tapas, such as Pulpo a la gallega (octopus), calamari, manchego cheese, jamon, fuet etc. As well as Mediterranean style main courses: pastas, paellas, fish, seafood, poultry and meat. All that we ordered was savory, sapid and yummy. Desserts were on a tray in display. Among rice pudding, Crème Brule, chocolate tart etc - we chose traditional cheese cake. It was very appetizing. Service attentive and well-timed.

We…read moreopted for an outdoor table and experienced the most prompt and attentive service of our entire visit to Mexico City. The offerings at Romelia are comprehensive to say the least. We started with some delicious croquettes, followed by jamon iberico on toast, spicy charred pulpo, and finally two orders of tacos -- prawn and ribeye. Each dish was superb. The pulpo was expertly charred, and the flesh as tender as a gentle summer kiss. The tacos, which are made completely from scratch in house, embodied many of the rich flavors that make Mexico City one of the world's greatest culinary destinations. Even the side dish of butter we requested was exceptional; it tasted as if an abuela in the countryside had awoken early that same morning to milk her lone grass-fed cow and gently churn it just for our visit. We opted for a bottle of Toro (~$960?) to accompany our feast, which we regarded as a sensational value. It accompanied the food perfectly. In addition to his outstanding service timings, our waiter was kind, conscientious, and particularly patient with our subpar Spanish skills. Sometimes in life, happy accidents happen. This was one such occasion. We were very pleased to discover Romelia, and hope that we can experience it many more times during future visits to this great city.

The grilled octopus was amazingly tender and fresh, one of the best in all of Mexico so far. The Patatas Bravas were too covered in paprika to taste much else, so for me they're a skip. The pan con tomato (tomato toast) was also not great as the bread got soggy quickly and there was some odd taste. Not bad by any means, just not the best I've had. All in all though, Id return in a heartbeat as the vibe is so chill and pleasant and given how amazing the octopus was, I'd like to try even more off their menu.
