This week I came twice... it's also on my way to the office so sometimes a nice treat on the drive home! They have authentic tacos, really great burritos, and pet above, incredible corn! Reasonable prices, fantastic taste, and wonderful service. They always cook it fresh to order and super speedy so if you're super hungry like I always am when I stop by, it is a real blessing!

The older woman who packaged my food was very mindful of peanut allergy. (My family and I don't have any allergies, but I appreciate that the woman asked if a brownie with peanut butter needs to be separated, and she kept pointing out in the box which one it was.) You can definitely mix and match. We ordered chocolate, s'mores, extreme peanut butter, raspberry cream cheese, Mexican hot chocolate, and slapshot. You can view your options on their website. There were no discrepancies on availability. It also made it easy if you want to ask family members on what they want before you go get purchase your brownies in-person. The food truck event in Blaine occurred between 12 - 5pm on Saturday. When I arrived at 1:00pm, the line was very long, but after 3pm when I returned, the line was shorter. We stored our pack of 6 in the fridge. I have only tried the chocolate brownie and in my opinion, it is sweet and even after refrigeration, it is soft.

Pretty simple menu, tacos and enchiladas with a choice of steak, pork, chicken and birria. The sauces they gave us had a nice bite to it. We had the steak tacos and birria enchiladas. Fresh, tasty, nice touch of cheese and the sauces were a big plus. Tacos were 3 for $12 and the enchiladas was 4 pieces for $12. They also have a variety of drinks. I hope they come back for more Vikings games and other big events at USBS.

Each beer ticket costed $6 which was a little steep, but to be expected at an event like this. I was really hoping to see TotBoss show up at this fair, but I saw the list and knew they wouldn't be there.. (secretly hoping inside they would come!!- if you haven't tried them they are BOSS). It was a neat little set up, all the trucks arranged in a big loop. A few things that turned me off.. -Lack of tables. There were only a handful of picnic tables and taller standing tables, and the food was not always easy to tackle while walking. -Lack of shade on one of the hottest days yet this summer. There was one tent to get some relief from the sun. That was it. Would I go again, yes. But I think I'd rather do a different location. At least in uptown you can go into the nearby shops for some relief from the heat.

Wonderful savory and sweet waffle creations - 5 stars!…read more Tonight I caught up with The Bougie Waffle at Alloy Brewing in Coon Rapids. Everything looked so good, I truly had a hard time picking what I wanted. So I ended up getting 4 different items. Okay...so I ordered 2 of the signature items. First, I tried "The Sweet Chick" with a sweet potato waffle, fried chicken, maple glaze, with spices, topped with a few sliced jalapenos. Wow - heavenly! I also ordered the signature "SMACKaroni" mac & cheese creation with several cheeses including Gouda. Again, a home run. Both of these dishes were a smaller size so they came together in one clamshell box. The mac & cheese functioned more as a yummy savory side. It was perfect. I was so delighted with the flavors, I went back and I ordered 2 more foods to take home. I got the savory "Chicken Dumplin" waffle, topped off with diced scallions. It came with a side of fried rice. And last but not least, I went with a super sweet selection, "Nana's Puddin" waffle with sliced bananas, nilla wafer cookies, caramel, and whipped cream - Ya' Man! Every bite was excellent. If you look closely at the waffles, they're more than just standard waffles. I noticed lots of detailed little ingredients and spices. They're definitely unique and the flavors are nice and balanced, not overpowering. I don't hand out many 5 star reviews but The Bougie Waffle definitely earns it! I love, love, love the food. And I really enjoyed chatting with the owner. She was very nice and cheery, despite the chilly temps and the windy fall night. Burrr!!! Right off, I liked the olive drab military look truck with lots of antennas...it looks a lot like a vintage army communications truck. Cool! Then I had a nice chat with the owner. He's an awesome dude. He serves up multiple varieties of dogs and burgers with funny military themed names like "The Medic" dog and the "The Private" Burger. I got the "Delta Dog" and the "G.I. Joe Burger". Cole slaw, baked beans, or chips for sides. Okay, okay...they have chicken burgers and veggie burgers too. But I'm a big fan of the real beef hot dogs and the real beef burgers. No soy here. (Okay, maybe the veggie burger has some soy.) Still, good stuff. Worth a stop if you're tired of McDonald's and Burger King. And support a vet owned business.
