Had a delicious lunch with my family. Atole was better than hot chocolate. Tongue tacos amazing with beans and rice. Definitely will stop again when I'm in Worthington. read more

I made an order while passing through town. The enchiladas were pretty good as were the rice and beans. The only thing I'd change is adding sour cream. I'm used to a restaurant at home automatically adding. Both the pineapple and horchata were amazing. Prices were reasonable and i appreciate that they take cards. The girl that works inside the was super nice and helpful. They misunderstood me when I called and ordered 2 enchiladas, they thought it was 2 dinners but I happily took both and will heat up the other one later. It's worth the stop if you're craving some Mexican food. read more

El Taco - Enchilada meal - Mexican Near Me - Worthington, Minnesota

This a small family owned, Mexican home style cooking restaurant. The food is always delicious and has never changed. This place has been a weekend spot for me for the past 10 years. May I recommend the red pork guisado my fav or the tortas de asada. Fair price and excellent service. read more

El Taco - Caldo de res, Torta de Asada, and Guisado rojo. The BEST!! - Mexican Near Me - Worthington, Minnesota

Didn't really live up to my expectations based on the other reviews. Not a whole lot else to say I guess. We tried tacos, enchiladas, tostada, chips & salsa. Rice and beans obviously. It was okay. read more

I absolutely love this place! They've got great food at a great price. I've ate here many times and have never been disappointed, it's a very clean place and the food is authentic and the waitress's are very nice! read more

Stopped in on a road trip out west. This is not your Americanized version of a Mexican restaurant. This is legit as in telenovela on the TV and we were the only two speaking English legit. Be warned the salsa is much hotter than a typical table salsa; however it is delicious. You can just tell everything has been freshly prepared. The chicken enchiladas were fantastic and the nachos were very good. Hard to believe you're in the middle of the Midwest when you start to enjoy the food. I would be a regular if I lived within a half hour of this place. read more

So after reading the reviews I thought heck yes I wanna try this place I love chips and salsa and store bought salsa isn't that great although great value salsa is actually really great.... Anyways so I went in and it was very clean I will definitely give it that. The lady who helped me was very nice. I ordered chips and salsa and chicken enchiladas and the salsa was extremely hot for my taste and it was very runny, but tasty just to spicy for me. But then she brought out my chicken quesadilla and my husband said umm what are those and yeah they were not good. The chicken tasted very cheap and I found big bones in it. This is my opinion I encourage everyone to go try it especially since it was clean and the lady was very pleasant. The service was good and prices were decent. read more

Love this place-- my favorite Mexican restaurant in town-- truly authentic! Salsa is a little spicy

Stopped here during a long drive, it was a quaint little restaurant with authentic Mexican food. Would recommend

Food was decent. Steak was spiced well and tasty. Mediocre rice and beans. Not a very clean establishment. Service was on the slow side. It was humid inside during a hot summer day and also had a funky smell. read more

Most of the reviews for this restaurant are spot on. This is a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that offers a limited menu of authentic meals. We ordered fried fish and caldo de res (beef soup). The fish was a whole fried tilapia, fins and all. The fish was moist, sweet, and deeply flavorful. The caldo de res is only available on weekends and is obviously freshly made in house. It had large chunks of beef (some pieces still on the bone), and loads of fresh, perfectly cooked veggies including carrots, potatoes, carrots, and green beans. This is not Americanized Mexican food. It's the sort of food you might get if you shared a family meal with someone in northern Mexico. Granted, the surroundings are not elegant. But the restaurant is clean and the owners are friendly and attentive. Bottom line, we loved the place and we will be back. read more

Read the reviews and stopped for some authentic Mexican food while on a road trip. The reviews are on target; everything about this place is authentic. The food was yummy and we will stop again when traveling through here. The restrooms are a bit of a challenge but we managed. This is the only reason we give it 4 stars rather than 5. read more

The reviews accurately described El Taco. Simple building, basic menu but good food. Stopped for lunch on our way past Worthington. Ordered the chicken flautas and chicken hard tacos. The flautas lacked a bit of filling but were fresh and served with guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, rice and beans. Tacos were well portioned and were a fresh deep fried tortilla rather than a store bought her taco shell. Lunch for two $25 read more

The appearance and atmosphere are nothing to write home about, but the food is amazing! Be careful of the the salsa it is very spicy. The camerones de diabla are a must have. read more

El Taco - a man sitting at a table with a plate of food - Mexican Near Me - Worthington, Minnesota

Legit Mexican food , food was great service was excellent I recommend it to anyone looking to get real authentic Mexican food.

Definitely wish they were open everyday, cause their food is good! I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican food because I can tell when something isn't homemade. But that wasn't the case with this restaurant, I can tell it was fresh and it was very tasty! read more

The fish ceviche and camarones al la diabla are both excellent. Best Mexican food I've found in southwest Minnesota. Service is great too. read more

This is one of those hole in the wall restaurants but truly a gem of worthington. the owner/waitress may not speak English fluently but she can cook! The chip and dip is so far my favorite, so hot that it makes your eyes water but you can't stop eating. The chips are always fresh, served in small bowl so you will ask for more. I always order the fish ceviche which is so fresh n refreshing. Other favorite is the chicken tacos, the tongue tacos is so yummy as well. Oh, and make sure to order the drink called 'ocheta'. It is a rice drink that tastes just like rice pudding in a cup. Yum yum yum read more

We stopped in later on a Friday night while in town for a hockey tournament and were wowed. Great little hole in the wall. That's a compliment but it truly is just kind of thrown together. The food is pretty authentic. The owner is the real deal. The carnitas taco was so good and fresh. Enchiladas were filling and so tasty. Fresh salsa and chips. Awesome find. read more

Recommended by a Mexican co-worker. This is the BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN WORTHINGTON. We are used to real Mexican food having come from California and Texas. All the other Mexican restaurants in town are bland and tasteless. If you want great tasting Mexican food with real flavor and reasonable heat, this is your place. We won't be going to any other Mexican restaurant in town. This is a small location. Only about 8 tables but more than worth it. read more

This is absolutely my wife and I's favorite restaurant of all time. The food is always delicious, service is so fast and friendly! Caldo de res and camarones a la diabla are my favorites, but literally you can't go wrong with anything you order! For dessert the cheesecake in the cooler is delish too. The chips and salsa are hot but have the best taste. The horchata is also incredibly good. This is the most authentic and fresh-tasting Mexican food you'll find! read more

Made a quick pitstop in Worthington from a long road trip and found this restaurant. The cheese enchiladas are great. The salsa they serve with chips is hot but very delicious. I was surprised to find good Mexican food in Minnesota and next time I pass by Worthington I will try another dish. read more

Wandered in about 10 minutes before closing time on a Sunday night. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. I ordered the steak tacos with rice and refried beans. It was just what I was after--a pretty fantastic plate of food. read more

I stop here as often as I can when I'm traveling through Worthington for work. It's a hole in the wall. There's nothing special about the ambiance, but the tacos are delicious and cheap. The salsa is spicy and flavorful. read more
