While the restaurant itself could use a makeover, the food makes it a great experience. I ordered a steak burrito, two chicken tacos (served with onions and cilantro) and an empanada. Chips and a warm hot sauce are brought to the table if dining in. The empanada was filled with beans and banana. I had never had a combination of the two. They mixed together nicely.

I really love restaurants with Mexican food and also then seafood boils. While I enjoyed that, 2 times out of the 3 the service was NOT GREAT. The first time the Restaurant was not full but it seemed like maybe it was unclear to the servers which table they were in charge of so we were literally skipped a lot. Both sides of us got served. The second time we were asked if we had a reservation and we did not, we were seated in the bar area and literally ignored for at least 20 minutes. Finally one of the other servers from another area walked by and asked if anyone had taken out drink order and was surprised when we said no one has come by at all. There was another server that served both tables on either side of us but wouldn't even look towards us and there were only two of us. The third time, I went with a family and the service was attentive in the back area and fine. The person I went with before won't go again because the service was so bad and we spent a ton of money. I really wanted to like Nena's.

I will be going again soon, so I will try more food and update this post.
