Your employees are beyond rude and so reluctant to help find anything in that store. I will definitely never be coming back. Customer service is suppose to be top priority next to fresh food and clean and organized ambiance. You definitely need a new manager and the district manager should be inspecting new hires after asking 3 people the third guy finally was knowledgeable and helpful. We bought menudo today at El Super. And we were really looking forward to eating their menudo, since it had been about 9 months. The price of menudo went up from $8 to $12.99 for large bowl. We were disappointed, because the flavor was very blend hardly any posole. read more

So this is a super affordable place to go to shop for in town. Meat is always on sale and so is the fruits. They have a little counter in which they sell hot and warm food. They also sell alcohol. They have a wide section of counters that one is for cheese, second one so for sea food and third one is for meat. Lines are long so expect to wait for 15-20 minutes. This is a really unique grocery store in the South Valley! They have Mexican products that you aren't going to find anywhere else for really amazing prices and it's just a fun place to browse. What makes this place really special is the unique fresh food stations. They have a tortilleria where you can get freshly made to order tortillas - corn or flour! You can also get great food to go or to eat in the food court area from La Cocina such as tortas, empanadas, street tacos, or shrimp cocktail. Yum! The tacos are my favorite! Again - the prices are amazing! They even have an agua fresca station with a variety of fruits! I was looking for a powdered red chili to bring back to Florida, so I found this market..Just getting into the parking lot was shear Madness once you're in the store BEYOND crazy.. This is a local store so it was packed.. I found the powdered red chili but due to the fact the lines were so long I passed.. They have fresh roasted Hatch Green Chile daily.. This review reflects the taco bar, that's it. At a buck and a quarter a piece, that's all you really need to know. From what I understand, when El Ranchero underwent a title change, the taco bar lost some of its character, but the bare bones that remain are more than worthy of a tour. During lunch, you'll stand in line a while, waiting to order, generally because every plate is served up hot and relatively fresh, each corn tortilla grilled on the spot. Like most taquerias, you'll choose from about eight meat options -- vegetarians can order chile rellenos and anticipate queer eye for the meatless guy expressions from staff and surrounding customers. I loved the carne asada but found the barbacoa just too greasy, but that's usually the case. Beans and rice and everything's nice with the salsa bar which, curiously, plays it El Super safe with the heat. I anticipated beloved burnout, didn't get it. One of the great joys of towns like Albuquerque are the endless, cheap dining options, especially in the south valley, where even the grocery store competes with my favorite spot down the street, El Paisa. And if you come from another side of town, as I do, it's the small stuff, culturally, that make the drive worthwhile. When I made it to the register, I requested water with lunch. The people they have working in the food court or so so so slow took me 30 minutes there was only one customer in front of me to get it and then when I finally get up there and she gets my panda Carnitas she starts helping somebody else and doesn't even ring me out and I'm standing there for another 10 minutes. The panadería is back to its pre-covid state where patrons can select each pastry with tongs and mix 'em up. During the pandemic, they were bagged four-of-the-same. There are also cakes and packaged varieties of bakery products, all affordable. El Super has various departments, including a cocina, and large indoor seating with a TV screen where some locals hangout daily. I always go to El Super when returning to my Atrisco abode after riding ABQ ART. Large variety of grocery items, lot of produce, and of course tortillas galore and Hispanic foods. No organic, I looked; go to NE for organic. Almost always long, slow check-out lines. If you buy meat at the counter, you have to wait in two long lines. People are annoyed by this procedure, but if you know you can't be in a hurry at El Super, it's fine. Lots of very hospitable Spanish-speaking employees. read more

Really good to find this store like I had back home in SoCal. Closest thing to Vallarta and Northgate. The Super I had back home was in National City. Love the selection, only issue was having to pay for a cake at the kitchen rather than just having to pay it all together at the check out, after waiting 20 min along with long lines. read more

This grocery store is unique in that you will find items found in Mexico. They have a great butcher shop and dining area. The bakery has some great sweet breads and other items. The produce prices are lowest around with many fresh herbs. Shoppers are expected to bag their own purchases. read more

*NM DONUT KWEEN ADVENTURES* #35 for 2019 I have a mixed review of El Super for many reasons. Mostly, i loved ProRanch and the whole style they had. El Super while similar still lacks things for me. 1. I miss the fun hut style area that you purchased fresh made agua frescas and salsas. However, El Super still serves freah made agua frescas but every time ive been here its disorganized and really has an employee there to help you with your drink order. So youre asking this person and that person till someone finally helps. 2. I miss the old Taqueria where you could order tacos and thats it and the fun salsa bar! There is still a taqueria but you order along with the mostly big line of all the other food orders. Again, disorganized. 3. I miss the variety of donuts the other store used to haven El Super still has donuts just not a big selection. Mind you, you might feel I'm being a negative Nelly but that's not it at all. I'm merely pointing out the differences. I shop at el super quite frequently. I love their sale prices especially when the dragon fruit goes on sale. I still order Donuts every time I come here and I still get an agua fresca! Every now and then I order the tacos because I love them so much. I DO love change and I think change is great for everyone but I really do miss the setup of the old store. So if you haven't tried El super just know: they have amazing products that you can't find other stores, they have great prices that are definitely lower or comparable to the Big Chain grocery stores and their bakery has one of a kind items! Visiting El Super can sometimes be a day trip because there's so much to look at! There is so many aisles to go up and down! Well, we went El Super had lunch and then went shopping. Such an array in the meat department with actual butchers behind the displays ! Recently started coming here again and I've been really happy with it. So far I've only been coming here to get fajita meat (amazing prices), desserts (delicious), and tortilla chips (the monster sized bag is only $7.99) They have a huge produce section with some stuff you won't find at the regular grocery. My mom and I went to buy some things we needed. We ended up using the self check out because they always have two cashier lanes open and always long lines. We were finished scanning and paying. My mom had to go back in to check pricing for meat. While she was in the meat area I was stopped by the two women workers asking for my receipt and was checking my cart like if we took something! I felt offended by the way they approached me I was the only one that was getting my cart checked and receipt while every one was walking out after they paid. They said it was protocol to check receipt and carts which I call bs! They were so unprofessional it was shocking! If we were men they would us let go with no hesitation! This is a busy market. We went here for lunch and the lines to check out were extremely long. They are a lot cleaner than I thought with their salsa out for you to self serve. Everyone that comes here are so respectful and cleans after themselves, or someone comes by and cleans real fast. I want to try everything they had because it all looked so good. QUE WOW! This place is my new favorito. I got some Tamarind Jarrito, El Jimedor Taquila, and some Tajin to make tamarind margs. Also I come out with some flan and dragon fruit. This is now where Pros Ranch Market used to be. They have cleaned things up a bit, reset the shelves and re-branded the store as El Super. I don't know if Pros got bought out or the exact details, but from what I saw it is an improvement. Everything that you came to Pros Ranch Market for is still here at super cheap prices. There are especially good prices on beans, lentils, split peas, and seasonal fruit & veggies. Of course, the baked goods are sinfully tempting. If you are on a low salt diet, this is the only place in town I have found low-sodium salt; yes, that is not a typo. They have Morton "Lite" salt that has 1/2 the sodium of table salt because it also uses potassium chloride. If you have a low salt diet, you also often have to find sources of potassium to lower your blood pressure. 1/4 tsp has 350 mg of potassium. I suppose only people with HBP would even care, but otherwise I have only found this online; so it is a rare find in town. What has changed is that everyone is a little more friendly, the aisles are a bit more clean and there are newer touches here and there. It is a good change. read more

But the fruits and vegetables are in great condition at a low price. They have all varieties of food from milk to bread to canned vegetables. American food and Mexican food.
