This bright and colorful food truck caught my view as I entered the Sunoco gas station in Hickory Ridge Village Center off Freetown Road in Columbia. I placed my order, then checked the air in my tires and got gas--two birds with one stone! By the time I returned, my lunch was ready. They serve freshly prepared Guatemalan-style food with very generous portions. I ordered the tacos choosing 2 flavors each of chicken and steak, burrito filled with tender steak pieces and then a Carne Asada burrito. The flavors were delicious, ingredients were fresh and nothing was overly spicy. Sliced cucumber and radish with sauces topped each dish and the service was friendly with no long wait. I heard about this food truck and was super excited to go check them out! They offer Guatemalan cuisine. I heard that the lines can be long but when we went on Saturday around noon there was no line and the wait for our food was around 10 minutes. Just like everyone says the portions are huge! Each meal can easily be split with someone else or saved for a later meal. I really loved the torta, it came with refried beans, lettuce, a special sauce, steak (you can choose the meat), all on a super soft bread. The tacos come loaded up with meat, the steak wasn't the best I've had but the chorizo was phenomenal! The drink options are limited, but if you've never tried coconut water that would be my recommendation. There were some tables right next to the food truck available to use. It was the perfect day to sit outside and enjoy our fresh food. The person who took our food order was super friendly, patient, and happy to answer any questions. THESE TACOS. I grabbed an order of beef, chicken, and shrimp tacos for myself and a friend for Cinco de Mayo. The reason why there are no photos attached to this review is because those tacos didn't stand a chance. We DEMOLISHED them!! The ingredients were perfectly seasoned, the toppings were so deliciously fresh, and the portions were incredibly generous for the price. Plus the guy running the taco truck was also really nice. I thoroughly enjoyed these tacos! Although it was a bit hard to locate at first, since it was in the parking lot of a gas station, it was well worth it. After tax, the total was around $25. Some of the ingredients were lukewarm (I believe the rice, steak and beans), but overall the flavors were still very good. Definitely love supporting local businesses, especially when the owners are great people. They were featured on Yelp's Top 100 US Taco Spots 2023 so definitely had to try it out. Finally got around to trying this taco truck after having my eyes on it for a few months. These are some of the best tacos I've had, so I'll definitely be a regular here! The tacos are not greasy at all and not overly heavy in flavor - the meats are all fresh and perfectly seasoned. The 4/$10 deal tops it all off, considering 3 are already very filling. I recommend getting one or two of each meat (choices are pork, chicken, shrimp, steak, and chorizo) so you can try them all. You really can't go wrong with any of them, but the shrimp has to be my favorite. Service is always friendly, but be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes for your order. Received rotten old sauce and possibly old food. I just need to write this review because I received rotten sauce that exploded onto my food. The food didn't taste that fresh but I wasn't sure. I went back to the owner and showed him the sauce. He said "oh no. This is old. " Then shut the window when I asked him if the food was fresh. I was polite and I was shocked at his response. If someone served fresh food , they would not act so suspicious. Just really poor attitude. I like to support small business but he should not be serving rotten/old stuff. Delicious tacos!! This family owned and operate food truck is in the cut of Harper's Choice Shopping Center near Safeway and Columbia Assn Skatepark. There was only one person running things on a busy Friday night so a short line had formed but having called ahead my order I was able to pick up and just go. The area wasn't well lit so it's very easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. The food was amazing - we had shrimp tacos, chorizo tacos (star of the show for me!), and also a steak quesadilla. Ingredients very fresh and tasty, the green sauce is only for those whom can handle extreme spice I believe it was habanero pepper sauce, so proceed w caution if you can't handle heat. The menu lists tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, carne asada, and burritos, along with burgers, dogs, and even pasta! I got the schuco "dirty" hot dog, loaded with deliciously messy toppings and a large sliced grilled dog on a grilled bun. The flavors were great! Savory and a little sweet, with optional hot sauce. Came with chips for $8, and i added a beverage to that. I saw sodas, tea, and a sangria drink, and i chose the tall coconut juice, refreshing and lightly sweet. The dog was huge, and made two meals for me. The staff was friendly. There are two picnic tables. I think you can order ahead by phone. So.. shame on me. WHY? Well, for living in Columbia MD for almost 4 years now, and seeing this cart sitting in the Safeway parking lot every time I shop there (2-3 times a week), and not trying it until just this past weekend. I got the 4 tacos ( 2x Shrimp and 2x Chicken ). Roughly 2.60 per taco, which is amazing considering the portion size and excellent quality. Shrimp were fresh, tender, super flavorful, and same with the chicken. Many taco joints used pulled boiled chicken cause it's easier to cook in volume since it just has to sit in a bog pot and boil, vs the way they server it here by grilling and chopping it for each order. The flavor on the chicken was really excellent. Perfect seasoning. Love the pico and 2 diff hot sauces. And the soft corn tortillas were thin and soft exactly the way I like them. He doubles up the tortillas on each taco which is a nice extra layer in case they get too messy. Bottom line: Don't let the food trailer scare you off- this guy is the real deal. Fresh ingredients, from the onions and cilantro, to the fresh grilled ingredients made to order. This is now officially my new go-to taco place in Columbia. OUTSTANDING!!! read more

This Guatemalan foodie destination is across from the Safeway. The owner/cook is a one man wrecking crew dishing out tacos (4 for 10), fajitas, and quesadillas. After ordering, the food is typically piping hot in 10 mins. Prices are reasonable and the food portions are great. The tacos, steak fajitas and steak quesadillas were spine tingling good. The quesadilla and fajita was two meals for the price of one! I appreciated the fact that you can taste the meat and there was no added sodium in the food. It came with 4 tacos (generous filling), two sauces (red/green), and some sliced radish and cucumber on the side. The food was good. I thought it was a bit bland, though, even with the sauce... So happy we tried this little food truck next to the Safeway in Harper's Choice. The guy who owns it super nice; always wears a mask and gloves. He even has signs on his truck to keep at least 6 ft away from each other, in both English and Spanish. :-) We've tried all the taco varieties and all were delicious! The shrimp and chicken are our faves. He definitely gives a nice portion of the proteins. If you like spicy, his green sauce will help clear your sinuses, plus it's got great flavor.
