really very tasty standard Tex-Mex and an actual quite kick-ass daquiri served up in Pberg by what appear to be Indians (or Sri Lankans or Pakistanis or whatever, not really important) in a 08/15-style curbside cafe environment. Nothing about the place is "authentic" and it's not really trying to be, either. It's trying to serve you the things it advertises, at a decent price, and the things it sells are well-made and intended for people who want to eat, drink and be merry. We had a couple of starters (the chicken nachos surprisingly empfehlenswert); my companion had the fajitas, which were very, very good, and I had the enchiladas, which I could not complain about (although the smattering of rice and beans could have been more generous, for the price). The service was attentive but not obsequious. It was a bit of a shame as we went there specifically for my birthday (a couple weeks ago) so were walking down Gleimstraße looking out for it, and in doing so, walked by about a thousand other restaurants whose tables were all full--even the spätis had people sitting outside them!--and this place was, when we arrived, pretty much still empty (which changed over the course of the evening, but still). I think, because the place doesn't have a sassy decor or servers to match or a menu that insults you for merely trying to eat there or overcharge for a beautiful, yet devastatingly unsatisfying plate of tiny tacos, it hasn't gotten much press, but we enjoyed it thoroughly, and if you spend enough time in Germany without traveling back to the States, it will more than meet your lowered Tex-Mex standards as well. All in all a very nice experience and unlike most "Mexican" restaurants we've tried in Berlin in the past decade, we look forward to our next visit. read more
