Here, the "buns" of the arepas are dyed colored coded to go with the specific mix you order. Sifrina = bright magenta pink sandwich pocket. Pretty freaking sweet!
Wanted to point out Venezuela has its own unique version of guacamole, affectionately called Guasacaca. El Rincon carries on this tradition, and I'm so glad I was able to experience it. I met the owner, one of the very few workers that spoke English, and he explained the make up of this tasty condiment - onion, cilantro, green pepper, salt, garlic, avocado, a little bit of olive oil, and vinegar. EXCELLENT atop my arepa! The entire sandwich melded perfectly, sweet, salty and savory in every bite. The owner gentleman did a great job checking in, the service was fast and efficient, and I never felt rushed.
I was really digging the vibe of this eatery, as it seemed to be a true neighborhood spot. All the locals inside, none of the touristy appeal. I recommend if you like Venezuelan food to give this restaurant a try!
