Our first day in Puerto Rico & I have been before so i knew exactly what i wanted to eat; some traditional puerto rican food. We found this place right near our air bnb. The portions are great and priced accurately. We got one pastelillo de carne for 3$. A perfect small bite to try between two. For our entree we split a churrasco skirt steak that came with one side. We chose traditional arroz con habichuelas (rice & red beans), and got an additional side of the amarillas. Everything tasted delicious, and came out quite quickly! The owner was serving us and he told us his wife was the chef (and the boss). He was super friendly and outgoing! It felt like I was walking into a friends backyard for a cookout the way he was socializing! We will absolutely be returning. ALSO: started our meal with a piña colada which was to dieeeee for!!!

Shrimp Mofongo, Shrimp w/ garlic sauce, Red Snapper all with Rice and Beans and sweet plantain! Yummy

We've passed this place before but to early in the day! This year for our anniversary we made it a point to visit when they were open and my wife and I have to say that we were very pleased with the place, sad that we didn't get to eat there before, the food was Excellent the service, staff and the people were very nice and welcoming! You might not realize that behind the front of this restaurant was a very interesting and cozy place! We will definitely be back there again!

It was authentic and delicious. Definitely worth it. The owner greeted and waited on us. Food is WOW! My first meal in PR was here and glad it was! Ring the bell, they will let you in!

Doesn't look like much, but husband and wife have owned for many years.

This was a hidden gem! We initially decided to go here for a quick snack before we went to the kiosks, but after talking to the owner for a bit, who also serves as a waiter, we decided to put in a full order. Wow, is an understatement. This was our best meal in Puerto Rico. We ordered the Pastelillo de Carne, Shrimp a La Parrilla and the Chicken Mofongo. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so so great. I'm no expert at mofongo but that was the best mo'f'n mofongo I've ever had. So delicious. Would recommend this local mom and pop shop to anyone who visits Luquillo and wants authentic food.

After doing lots of research on places to eat while visiting Puerto Rico, I came across El Rincon Del Sabor & am so glad I found it! We had dinner here our first night in Puerto Rico & we were off to a fabulous start. Ordered the Steak Mofongos, Red Snapper in garlic sauce, Lobster in garlic sauce and the butter chicken (for our one picky, non-seafood eater) & the coconut arepas. Everything was absolutely delicious. Love that this is a husband and wife team with one as front of house & one as the chef. Kids had non-alcoholic pina coladas, we had local beer & sangria. The house-made hot sauce was just the right about of spicy for my hot-sauce loving family. We bought a bottle to take home with us. The menu is in english & spanish. As far as other comments about the area the restaurant is in, we did not see any issues or concerns at all....in fact, came back another street over for breakfast another morning. Just go - you won't regret it !

Right in the heart of Luquillo! When you walk in, there's a mini souvenir store and the whole place feels very family oriented. Like you're eating at your family's house! Very comforting. Our waiter who I think was also the owner was super kind and welcoming. I told him I was trying to practice my Spanish so he spoke to me in English and Spanish. I really appreciated that! I ordered the red snapper with garlic sauce. It was pretty good. My dad ordered the shrimp mofongo which he's very had Puerto Rican food before and he enjoyed it. My bf had the steak mofongo and the steak was delicious! Unfortunately, the AC was out that day so it was a little toasty but not horrible.

Definitely a hole in the wall; isn't that where the nets foods come from! The owner greeted us and was absolutely catering. We were treated with such sweetness and care, almost as if we were visiting home after being gone for a time. Completely authentic home cooked Puerto Rican food with all the choices and more.

Took five years but I made it back. This time twice in one week. Small joint owned by Sr Puky who is front of house and his wife does the cooking. Amazing food! Don't be fooled by the short hours they are open. This is the best place in Luquillo for dinner.

Best place I have eaten in...years.

*B&B recommended* This literally is the best place I have ever eaten! Found on Yelp, we looked for a neiborhood restaurant where the food would not be watered down from a constant flow of tourist just to make revenue. We found it, called ahead, needed no reservations and backed down the one way street (like empty minded tourist) and walked in a house that is converted into a tiny gift shop, 30 person dining area and kitchen. Met by the front of the house owner from this 45 year marriage we sat for 90% of the time by ourselves and treated like we paid for the entire night like we had Jay Z & Beyonce and indluence.. Going purely off of desire for a new experience we ordered things that we had never tried but was recomended. We watched the locals come in and pick up and leave with food like it was 12 noon at a construction site all with no interruption to our experience and see how tourist rate his w8fes food so high, she gets rare from me. I appreciate the low key, plastic cup, refrigerator door salid dressing choices on the table with the cafeteria forks and knives because it felt like I was eating over at my buddy Ramone Fuentes grand-mama's house, if I knew such a person. With that small portion salid was a fried bead that wasn't sweet nor thick like a glazed doughnut. Flavored with a memory of coconut we struggled to not eat all four so that room would be left for the main dish; however, the fist drink (Margaritas) I had on an empty stomach turned the light on. Awww shit! Next came the unstereotypical beans and rice that I had to compare to my granny's black eyed peas, buy I couldn't. I could not taste the pork fat that my grandma used in theses beans. I see these don't look like mama Lena's beans. Darn it if she was alive and saw me even looking at any beans with bell peppers in them she would put me at the little kid's table. Beans & white rice...Blame! Then a bottle of heated heven. Habinerro and papaya sauce to go around with the beans, rice and Arepas. Not a sugar sweet. Obviously made within the last day and hot that wakes up the dead but goes back to the coffin to leave your tongue in your mouth for new food adventures. The main dish was something I never experienced before. I was raised on many types of southern prepared fish, specially fried, but this was different. I was told afterward I was rold how to keep flavor on the skin of a fish without breading it. It all makes since! Red herring has a distinct flavor but the very slice smokiness she used in her spices penitrated the perfectly cooked meat. The bones were large and nothing hidden in your bites. Now as our eyes began to come back from behind our head we were told to drizzle a garlic sauce o er the fish and then my head exploded with my Gatorade seasoning added in a way that I had not used it.

    Mofongo de pollo

Oh my goodness!! This was almost a missed gem. The delicious home made to order dishes were authentic and amazing the Mofongo and Asopao de Langosta were both delicious.

My partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant while staying in Luquillo for the week. This restaurant is in the back of a souvenir shop owned by a local named Luis. You will find some very fresh and local food here, despite the odd atmosphere. Luis is extremely welcoming and loves to chat. We ate some fantastic shrimp gumbo and mofongo. Some of the best food we had on our trip to PR! Highly recommend!!

You can tell that every detail on each plate was intentional and thoughtfully done. The standout dishes for me were the elote ribs, which were unreal, the grilled octopus cooked perfectly tender, and the ceviche con leche de tigre, which was bright, fresh, and packed with flavor. But the real star of the night was the whole branzino absolutely phenomenal. And for dessert? Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the options.
