It took a bit to make the order so I had a beer while I waited. The triple malt from ambar exports was one of the best bets I have had since I was at a trappist brewery in Holland. To my fellow Americans who don't understand the difference between waiters in America and servers in Europe (a certain one star review in particular), you have to be more aggressive in telling the server what you want. They won't just wait on you and keep checking in. They expect you to raise your hand or call them over if you need to order something more. The pace of eating is different. You wont feel like they are trying to get you to pay the bill and clear the table because they aren't as dependent on tips as American waiters. That being said, they really appreciate tips and I would encourage you to top for service that goes above and beyond.

They were purposely bringing expensive items to their tables that they didn't order and forcing them to pay. They did the same to use since I was speaking english with my wife, and I confronted him (Jesus) in spanish about the practice, I paid and left. The whole staff was making sexual jokes about a group of female foreigners and joking about pissing customers drinks/food among other comments. Even when they were greeting them out at the end of their visit they were smiling and telling them "a tomar por ****" with a smile on their face... which is an insult. I have never seen anything like it during all my years of travel, the staff were a bunch of old men 50+ and the worst was a man named Jesus. Day 2 of 16 visiting Madrid, and I am glad we had this experience sooner rather than later. By the way; 46 euros for the Cider for us, and a Calamari (squid) appetizer. Outrageously over priced.
