The rooms are very huge and the staff is absolutely super-friendly - never seen such great staff in a hostel! Only drawback: there is an aircondition instead of windows, which you could open. Even the receptionist in the evening said that his boss won't let him turn on the air conditioner all the time. The air conditioner is only turned on during a few hours in the evening. I was there at the end of June and it was so hot, I had to sleep in the lobby. The windows do not open so there is no hope of a cross breeze. The day=time receptionist was so incredibly unfriendly and treated us like we were a major bother to her. How this place landed in the Brierly guide I'll never know. You've been warned.

Nice communal outdoor space, kitchen, clean bathrooms, and a washer. Next store there's a small cantina serving bocadillo, soup, snacks, beer, and ice cream. They have a nice yard to stretch, sunbathe, or relax in. They do not stay open for dinner. There is a restaurant somewhere close by that people went to or they cooked.

He spoke English, which was nice, and gave me very careful directions to several places! He made sure I had a cab early in the morning to the train station too! The rooms and beds were very clean, the blankets were so comfy, there chargers for each bed, and a closet that locked for each person to store your stuff! There was a nice break room, and you can do your laundry for 6 Euros, including the detergent! I would come back here anytime!

Just a few blocks from the Cathedral, a block south of a really interesting restaurant that serves a "menu" (same side of the street as the hostal). A block north of a delicious churros/hot chocolate place (Metate), and many other places to eat and drink on the same street. 2. Price. For where it is located it was by far the most inexpensive place around (don't wait until the last minute as it books up quickly) 3. Cleanliness. Pretty good for the number of people going through there. I saw the cleaning person all day/every day 4. Privacy. Only Albergue I stayed in that had privacy doors so you could block off sections of bunkbeds and convert into a private room. Overall...AWESOME!

Best guest house I have ever stayed at !…read more - The hosts: I have never been so well received in a guests house in my life ! Sonia and Joao are very welcoming and caring. - The breakfast: never had such an excellent breakfast ! Fresh fruit juice made from fruits of the garden, very good bread, eggs from the garden's chicken, bakeries from Sonia, etc. Never tasted a "real" passion fruit juice until now ;-) - The house: nicely decorated, a kitchen at your full disposal, a big bath for the room with a private bathroom, mosquito nets at all windows, nice lounge with a Nintendo Wii, etc. - The exterior: beautiful garden, little swimming pool to refresh yourself, a hammac, a little terrase, etc. - The situation: very peaceful, a bit excentred from Braga (5 minutes by car), ideal to get some rest ! - The social interactions: it was a pleasure to meet other travellers and discuss with them.

The showers in the main building were not draining and only had cold water. 6€ for a bed & 7€ for a great meal of tortilla, spaghetti, salad, bread and wine. Our host was fantastic! He politely asked for everyone to please wait until he said grace. Some people didn't and he had to ask multiple times. I could see that with the right mix of people this Albergue would be a great Camino experience! We rolled up to a lively group of young boys who left a mess at the table and group of young girls who stayed up late drinking and woke everyone. It was the type of place that you could really have a relaxing time with other like-minded pilgrims sharing the Camino spirit with our gracious host!
