The garden surrounding the house of the hosts is wonderful and very well maintained. I did suffer from the cold the first night, but that was OK after. I didn't come by car (automatic car rental is more expensive than taking a taxi) which had its challenges: I had to go down 500 m on a steep hill to be told on the first day that the bread hadn't arrived yet. I did take the taxi to get in and out of Paredes de Coura, although one could also walk it: about 2.5 km.

Looking at the guests, who where there when I was, this is a popular venue for destination weddings. The Parador sits on a peninsula overlooking the water. The views are gorgeous. From the hotel, it is an easy walk to leave the property and visit nearby shops. The room was spacious. I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The dinners in Spain often include fish, which is cooked to perfection. Breakfasts at the hotels are a buffet and I enjoyed the various cured meats and regional cheeses.

The best part is that it's located next to a fantastic bar that has local draft beer on tap, great snacks, and good taste in music!
