I had to look up what a chalupa was... and basically it's a softer more bread like wrap. It was fried, so it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The portion was large with melted cheese. Alongside was a small scoop of sour cream and one of guacamole. A mound of yellow rice and a small taco shell cup of red beans rounded out the plate. It was good, but fairly plain tasting. Adding some salt and salsa helped a bit. My husband got a combo with two different options. He wound up taking one part of his lunch home. His meal came with refried beans and yellow rice. Standouts: *Empanadas with a delicious smoky braised meat filling (would prefer sauce on the side). *Smoked short rib mole -- tender and well layered. Ask for rice or tortillas; they're happy to bring them. *Goat birria taco -- flavorful and not gamy.
