Really nice grocery store that centers on Latino (mainly, Mexican) goods. There are baked goods (conchas, etc), food and drinks for purchase (jamaica, fresh juices, etc) , a cheese area and butcher. There are also various grocery-related items for sale. I tried the jamaica and various tacos the last time I came and they were pretty good (they were only $5 for 5.) Overall, I enjoy coming here and would recommend others to come as well.

My first visit here with mum and it was awesome. There was a nice gentleman greeting at the door with the weekly add in hand. Actually all the staff were wonderful and very helpful. They showed me where all the items I needed at and lots of free samples! Literally you can eat here, shop here and practically do everything else. It's super convenient since my mum lives around the corner. The produces were plentiful and the variation of meats were a bit overwhelmingly I just didn't know what to buy! Seafood were of great choices but not as fresh as I would like. Overall, I can't wait until they open one in Katy. But for now, whenever I'm visiting the parents, I'll stop by to grab my groceries here too!

This location is very clean. I visited the store months ago and noticed they had a eatery section. I didn't have time to check it out then, but I did today. It's not a high-end restaurant, but the food is good for the price. The average price for a combo plate is $6.99. They serve a good amount of food per plate. They have a variety of food, from your typical tacos, burritos, BBQ chicken and combo plates, to Flautas, Gorditas and Sopes. They also have a bakery and natural juice section. Photos attached. Seating area was empty when I took the photos but got full by the time I finished my meal. I always take an early lunch.

Nice selection of produce. But prices of frozen & canned goods are at least 15% higher than leading items on the shelves.

The place is clean and I was able too find everything I needed, and a few ingredients that I haven't seen in years. Definitely will return.

OMG I ate the best baklava in Houston! When the doors of the food mart opened, the aroma that hit…read moreme was insane! I didn't bother to look at any of the products on the shelves. My nose literally led me to the back of the food mart where the bakery is. I saw trays and trays of different kinds of baklavas in the display cases. I got greedy (as usual when it comes to sweet food) and asked for eight different kinds of baklavas. The baklavas were sold by per pounds. Luckily I brought my Turkish friend along which helped in the communication part, and I was able to get a few pieces of each kind. The baklavas weren't too sweet, and they were so awesomely good. If I have to choose one favorite (trust me, it is tough to have one favorite only), it would have to be the cold baklavas with hazelnut or pistachios. Eat them straight out from the fridge is just aaahhhh... Diyarbakir Burma with pistachio had a good texture contrast that was so good. I also got the rice pudding (forgot to take a pic because I gobbled it down before I remember to take a pic) which came in a small rectangle aluminum tray. The rice pudding was baked well, and it wasn't overly sweet. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Other than sweets, the bakery sells breads too. That would be the food item l will purchase on my next visit.

Note: This is a review for the food court, not the grocery store itself…read more Their food court has some really affordable meal options, but overall the food was underwhelming. We wanted to get their $20 Fajita and Sausage family meal, but they didn't have that one available, so instead we got a the Pork Rib BBQ meal. The pork ribs were good in flavor, but were lukewarm and tasted like they had been left out for awhile. The bread, mashed potatoes, and corn we got with the meal was also cold. There was a slight miscommunication issue in which we wanted to get Mexican sodas but couldn't so we ended up getting Fanta instead. I also ordered a carnitas taco, but I think the carnitas was pretty bland and lacked much other seasoning to give the taco any flavor (I honestly prefer Chipotle's Carnitas). I'm giving 3 stars mainly because the cashier was very friendly and helpful, and also because I feel like I may have had a better experience if I was fluent in Spanish haha.

We've lived very close to this restaurant, and always thought it looked like just another Mexican…read morerestaurant and never tried it. Then I saw a short recommendation (with about a dozen likes) on another neighborhood site, and we decided to try it out. Now we've been there several times, and everything I've tried is outstanding, and the rest of my party wants to keep returning to try new things. And maybe that's especially noteworthy. Usually I go to a place and find something I like, and that's the item I get for that place. But El Fogon is 3 for 3 on perfection so far. Our first trip was a Thursday night and they have the poblano pepper fajita special for 2 on Thursday nights. The salsa is not runny, it's not ketchupy, it's not too mild or too hot -- it just has you enjoying it so much that before you know it you have to ask the waiter to bring more bowls. I won't say anything's super spicy, but it's all super flavorful. I've had the fajitas with beef and bacon. Then I had the Cameron brocheta (bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp with Monterrey jack cheese & jalapeño. The third time, I had ceviche, and they're very generous with the serving size. We're going back tonight -- the fourth time in two weeks -- and I have to try the nachos. And I still haven't had my favorite Mexican plate that I always have everywhere ... Chile relleno. And even their beans and rice are spectacular and better than maybe anywhere else. And I've had the peach margarita each time. It's very nice, though I have another spot I still like better. I always like peach, but I'm tempted to try their blackberry jalapeño margarita, or their watermelon mint. Or the pineapple rita. Or maybe tonight the mango habanero. I regret that it too so long for us to try El Fogon, but now that we've tasted how fabulous it is, we're catching up.
