He took the family and myself to Reforma the day we arrived and it was a warm welcome. The coffee is amazing the food, especially the huevos Shukshuaka (sp) was delicious! The Shukshuka was fresh and delightful with a delicious slice of bread or as the locals call pan used to soak up the sauce. An introduction to the meal was delicious pastries and a fruit plate with granola and cottage cheese. The papaya, pineapple, melon, and apples glistened with a drizzle of honey that shimmered in the late morning ambient light. A very classy atmosphere Reforma has a rustic look that screams Mexican ranch style hacienda featured in an Architectural Digest. My second experience at Reforma was the day afterward, where we were met with the same delightful service. After switching my decision from pan elotes to chilaquiles, I again had an incredible experience filled with many refills of beautiful coffee and a refreshing fresh squeezed glass of strawberry juice. They cook food with healthy oils : avocado, coconut, olive oil, grape, and 2 more choices that I imagine were blends of some form. FYI You should only be cooking with coconut & avocado oil. For them to know & use these I was in awe!! Olive oil is only for dressings. I asked to have my food cooked in avocado oil but they were out, I didn't like the options left so I said Olive oil. I was surprised the waitress knew olive oil is not for cooking as it has a low smoke point unlike avocado and cconut oil. The plate is served with bolillo or birote depends where you are from: it's like a French roll. It was made with flax seeds. There is a set menu for lunch every day. Be sure to let them know if you are vegan. I particularly enjoyed the eggplant, the tostadas de nopalitos and the vegan ceviche. For dessert, they served a flan made of pureed mango. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have had a little more of the dessert, it was so delicious. Lunch is served in multiple courses at a price that is very affordable. The service is very attentive. All in all, it was a great experience and it really was the cherry on top of my vacation in Sonora.
