Our group came after having a tipsy boat day and we were hungry for some street tacos. We ordered a variety but the ones that stood out to me were the tripas and suadero. Both had that wonderful charred smell and flavor to them. The tortillas were some of the best I've had. They were super thin! More room for meats in my tummy. I wanted to come back the next two days but they didn't have tripas until 6pm and then they were closed Sunday. My biggest regret was not eating more tripas when I could!

Three orders of tacos, one beans, and two aguas were under 300 pesos.

We opted to dine outside as the weather was pleasant that day. This is what we ordered: Taco de Pulpo Gordita de Camaron Taco de Camaron Tostada de tartar de atun Duraznos a la mantequil Arroz con Leche I thought everything we ordered was so delicious and stunning. The pulpo was tender, which made me wish I had my own order of that. I think the tostada de tartar de atun is something everyone should order. Taste wise I was getting Korean and Mexican influences. While both desserts were great, if you only have room for one, get the duraznos a la mantequil, the peaches were so juicy. To top it off, we had complimentary shots of mezcal at the start of our meal. I appreciate the amazing service and intimacy I felt during my lunch at Taller Xilotl. I look forward to having another meal here when I return to CDMX in the fall.

Prices are just a tiny bit higher than taco stand but if you want to sit down and eat, this is a good spot. Basic pastor taco is $18. I think taco stand is like $15 for one. Very good. Meat is freshly cut from the rotisserie. Salsa , Pina, onion cilantro. Basic combo but yet so good. You can eat it without salsa honestly. They have other kind of meat too. If you want to explore they have head and face meat too. Those are little bland but salsa can fix that. Service is good, they have a bar also that they can serve you beer or tepache with your food.

The location is right outside the Chapultepec metro stop, entrance is easy to miss (quite literally a hole in the wall from the street) but find the Netflix sign and you're there. Seating is modest with typical tall chair/standing room for fast in and out. It has a charm if you're not used to it, as these types of taquerias originally evolved around high traffic lunch hours, not dissimilar from izakayas or ramen shops.
