We are on vacation and were looking for an authentic homemade delicious meal. Walking into dinner we were greeted by the two sisters who were so nice and accommodating. We ordered a ton of tapas you cannot go wrong with any! They went to the supermarket right next door to get our friend buns without sesame seeds since she is allergic to them. The meal was fresh, homemade, and made with love. Would recommend this place a million times over. GO!

One of my favorite meals in Marbella was our dinner at The Orange Tree. The friendly owners, Frank…read moreand Irene, warmly welcomed us into their restaurant and made us feel like family. Shortly after we ordered a bottle of wine for the table, Irene brought us the most incredible homemade bread that was accompanied with olive tapenade, whipped butter, and pickled garlic cloves. I could have ate the bread all night, but I finally had to push it aside so I could save room for my dinner! The Orange Tree offers a two-course and three-course early bird menu. Since the early bird menu was so reasonably priced I decided on the three-course menu since it was only a few dollars higher than the two-course menu. (Calories don't count when you are on vacation, right?) For my appetizer I ordered the Thai-style Mussels served in a green curry and lemongrass broth, for my entree I ordered the Duck Confit with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, and for my dessert I ordered the Pear Tarte Tartin. Please note that the menu does change frequently to incorporate seasonal ingredients. The mussel appetizer is amazing and I highly recommend ordering this dish. The broth is so fragrant and each bite was an explosion of different flavors. I stole a few bites of my husband's scallops and pork belly appetizer and it was fantastic! The duck confit was delicious, but I was too full and couldn't finish it. I tried to cancel my dessert, but Frank insisted there is always room for dessert so somehow I managed to polish off a pear tarte with vanilla ice cream. Originally we had planned to turn in early since we had a 6:00 am flight the following morning, but our dinner was leisurely spread over a three hour period. Everything is made from scratch so expect food to come out of the kitchen at a slower pace. We didn't mind at the time since we were enjoying our meal and chatting with Frank.

What a fantastic find while we were here in Marbella!…read more We were looking for something close outside the hotel and we're having quite a bit of trouble locating anything worthwhile on Yelp. I guess there just aren't that many Yelp travelers in the area for whatever reason. I jumped on Trip Advisor and had much better luck in my search. I stumbled upon this place and based on the reviews on TA we decided to give it a go. It was less than a 15 minute walk from Puente Romano in a nice area full of little restaurants and shops. The servers were so nice. They spoke English really well and smiled the entire time we were there. I was craving pizza (hence the searching) so I went with that. It was fantastic! It had a white sauce, Iberian bacon, cheese, and a free range egg in the center. I added lots of chili oil and it totally blew my mind how good it was. It was crunchy, gooey, and just really good. Just what I was looking for! My wife had a calzone and it was way more than she could eat. I will say the calzone was different than any other I have seen. It was almost like a thick spaghetti sauce inside but tasted pretty good but would not choose that again. The prices are very reasonable especially compared to the Hotel we were staying in. I dug the vibe and the decor was pretty cool. I wish we could have had another meal here! Hopefully I can turn other Yelpers on to this spot as I had to add it myself to the site. You're all welcome! ;)

Let me tell you this place knows how to turn a frown upside down. However the moment the drink menu was placed in from of me, my eyes lit up. If you have a taste for fruity, refreshing drinks I highly recommend the mango aurelyus and the passion of cibo. While browsing the food menu I was presented with many delicious options, and I landed on the penne allá puttanesca. It was the perfect meal to permanently put me in a good mood. To accompany dinner, my family and I enjoyed the lovely Artadi. Our server, Martha, gave us an excellent history of the wine which made it all the more enjoyable. Through the dinner conversation I noticed how the lighting had played a part in setting up a wonderful environment and how the music was upbeat but not overbearing, and accompanied the lighting and surrounding conversation to create a comfortable environment for all. This beautiful establishment was committed to making my night cheerful, because Martha brought us some limoncello shots for me and my family to imbibe in before heading home. Now my only thing to frown about is having to walk back!

We arrived for a Christmas night dinner with very few expectations. My what a Christmas gift. My wife and I arrived at 7:30 (I know really early by Spanish standards) to a half full room of diners including families dressed for a special evening, as we were. Shown to our table immediately, seated, allowed a few minutes to settle in before asked for drinks and shown menus. Very easy flow of menus, cocktails, wine list and time to peruse. They offered specials but the head waiter stopped in to offer the kitchen expertise for anything off menu that they might try satisfy. All done with ease and grace. Menu was expansive Spanish/ French with nice selections of seafood and meats. My wife had the lobster Thermidor and I had a fish soup and grilled corvina. We started with fresh bread and butter (excellent olive oil was on the table), a muse bouche of salmon purée, olives, an aioli and carrot/celery. The salmon was nicely done and a good start. The soup came next and was very flavorful and hearty. Nice chunks of seafood. The mains came next nicely timed. The Thermidor was nicely sauced with large chunks and sauce was exquisitely balanced. My wife loved it. My corvina was a a very nice portion. Gilled to perfection on a bed of whipped potatoes, julienne vegetables and delectable sauce. We finished with a goat cheese ice cream. It went well with our remaining cava (the wine list is extensive and heavily Spanish) and a nice cortado. We were given a Spanish cordial on the house that finished the meal. This was the work of a confident and professional kitchen. Service was special. We had at least 2 waiters (both young women) looking after us. They remained unobtrusive but efficient. Smiles and banter when we initiated but very professional. The restaurant was elegant but comfortable,15-18 tables I could see. As we left we were thanked and shown again the kind of genuine hospitality of gracious hosts who were confident and proud of their kitchen and staff and who truly enjoyed their work. I thought $$'s were equivalent to the value received. If you have the opportunity when you visit Marbella/ Estepona or make a special trek to try, I hope you will not be disappointed.
