Wow, super fresh tasting food. Feels really authentic inside. I found this place on Yelp while driving through so I stopped in and got a few tacos. You go up to a window and order your food, but you can see like an auntie and uncle back there cooking it up. I got asada and lengua tacos. First of all, the tortilla was the best tortilla I've ever had. They're light and really fresh tasting. The meat is not overly seasoned. It's cooked well and the flavors shine through. I love the vibes of this place, I can't wait to visit again read more

Authentic Mexican tacos in the middle of America. This locally owned taqueria was well worth the detour off the highway. We enjoyed tacos de lengua and a carne adobada burrito. We noticed Spanish speakers eating around us, which is always a good sign. We would gladly stop again for a Mexican taco fix when away from the border. read more

This is my dream place - simple menu, homemade from scratch, pupusa, language taco combo- all fresh and delicious.

Quick friendly service! Got the al pastor super burrito pretty dry, the pastor had good flavor. Pretty simple menu needed cheese, guacamole, sour cream, or salsa. Like trying hole in the wall places. read more

Reasonably priced food. Friendly service. Large servings. Clean and comfortable. Recommend the burritos, tacos, and pupusas.

I visited Emporia to visit family, we wanted to try different places around town. Was not impressed. This a Mexican Food place that sells pupusas. ( thats a Salvadorian dish) I had some and did not like them. I know they were Mexican, but they were bland. The salsa was not good, and the curtido that is usually my favorite when eating pupusas was not good at all. I added salt, which made things more eatable, but was very disappointed. My daughter had the pupusa plate with beans and rice. Ya the beans and rice were bland also. The rest of my family loved it. Not sure if maybe my dissatisfaction came from me expecting the pupusas I am used to, but honestly I don't think so. I also had an horchata and was disgusted. Tasted old or fake , like packaged. They have 2 locations in Emporia, but next time I would rather try another Mexican food place than eating here again. read more

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. It's clean and basic, but the food is great. Service is fast and friendly. It is one of the best bargains in town. read more

Excellent fresh food. Homemade tortillas. Generous with the cilantro. Do not judge a book by its cover. My MidWest boyfriend was nervous walking in here with me. (I'm Californian). A simple little family place. Ceviche tostada was fantastic. My skeptical boyfriend was still talking about the tacos all the way to the next state. read more

This place is a glorious ma and pa diner! I should've taken pictures, however their food is absolutely Fantabulous! I figured I'd try something new, so I ordered the tostada de ceviche! It's cold (which was surprising to me anyway) and tasty. My friend couldn't finish her chicken quesadilla because it qas huge, I I finished it and again it was tasty! Their red sauce has a bit of a kick to it, and their green salsa has a nice flavour! I'd recomend this place for anyone passing through Emporia. I'm going to come again! read more

Street tacos just like I remember from California. Wish they had a ground beef option but the choices are still amazing. Taco Tuesday rocks here! read more

The food was delicious no doubt, the service took a little long not terrible though, the restaurant is small and it would be nice if it had a home feel. read more

I am Latina and from Katy Texas so I am always looking for authentic food when I travel. I found this place looking for food where I was staying. It's a small purple house. The food was great, homemade corn gorditas, and pupsas so good. Also, good street tacos and burritos. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a Mexican food fix in the area as there is not much of a selection in this area. Grapefruit or Guava jarritos are a must with tacos! Erika read more

Delicious super burritos! The tortillas were soft and thin. Food was hot and ready upon pick up. This is our go-to Mexican food place

Stopped late after our daughters basketball came. Great street tacos and super delish ceviche tostada. Not fancy but great food.

We had the street tacos and had to order more because they were so good! We will be back next time through Emporia!

Oh boy! If you want street tacos and killer burritos.....you have to the right place. Amazingly good

All the reviews have it right - this place is straightforward, has a simple menu, and is delicious! I was hoping to try the pozole but it was all gone for the day. I will be back another day to try it. I decided on the combo platter with 2 tacos - one beef, one chicken. Served with rice and beans, these street style tacos were excellent! I really enjoyed the green salsa sauce and ended up putting it on everything! This may end up being a place I stop in once a week. Sooo good! read more

So glad to find this place (thanks to yelp). Enjoyed a delicious and hot off the grill pupusa with cabbage on the side. I prefer cabbage that has been marinated and is 'juicier', but this was pretty good. And cheap. They also have a huge variety of Jarrito's flavors for an authentic refreshment (Tamarindo anyone?) and desserts of Flan or Tres Leches. I had the tres leches and it was perfect -- not too sweet, and not too gooey, just right. Be prepared to point to the picture on the photo menu next to the register, or order in Spanish. And bring cash (no cards accepted). read more

Great food! I'm from Texas, and you have to go to find Mexican food with this flavor and spice! I highly recommend trying El Marmol!

If the rice in a burrito is crunchy, it's instantly off the list for me. I was disappointed after the great reviews this had.

Best lengua tacos ever! Great people, great service. Authentic Mexican food. Menudo on weekends. Delicious! read more

Food was good cheap fast and hot. Love the pupusas. Horchata had a good unique flavor.

Burritos the size of your face for pocket change! Whenever I am in town, I am sure to visit this place. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but aren't those always the best places to eat?! You must try it! read more

Delicious tacos and papusas. Really hard to beat. Take out is a great option as seating is very limited.

It would of gotten a 4 star review if they had beer. The tacos were excellent and the prices were okay. I would have happily paid a little more for some slightly bigger portions. Kid working there keeps saying they are going to get a liquor or cereal malt beverage license but has never gotten one. Good place for tacos if you don't need a margarita or some beer to go with it. read more

Not bad. Trusted some already posted reviews. Small place with a small menu. Order at the counter though there are seats. This place is all about the food. Tacos were good, burrito was good and the pupusas "spelling?" Were dynamite. Salsa was tasty too. read more

I asked around and many people said this place was great. I really wanted street tacos. I got 2 tacos, 2 pupusas and rice with beans. I paid $10 and some change. That is great. Then it only took maybe 5 minutes if that to wait for my togo! It tastes AMAZING. Highly recommend. read more
