Definitely a place to visit for a good and cheap meal! Staff was super friendly and went with my poor English pretty well. Also easy to pay with a card. Highly recommended in the Zona Rosa!

That said, I really appreciated how clearly those items were labeled--it set expectations upfront and made ordering easier given our schedule. The space itself is beautiful with an open, airy ambience that immediately sets the tone. We were started off with complimentary crispy tortillas served with both red and green salsas--a simple but very welcome touch. For food, my kids ordered the lime soup and the penne al chipotle, both of which they really enjoyed. My husband and I went for the tortas: he chose the Bacalao a la Veracruzana and I had the Cangrejo de Concha Suave. Both were delicious, with a unique twist on the classic flavors. My husband also had a cocktail that he loved. Overall, a solid experience with great food and atmosphere. This is definitely a place I'd return to when I can slow down and savor it properly.

No music beyond the 2 guitar player going around table to table to see if you wanted a serenade. Skipped their offer 1st time around. Pretty quiet, bright and clean. Found that waiter spoke a little English and with our little Spanish got things done. Menus are bilingual Spanish-English. Ordered 4 lamb tacos, chile en nogada, cooked chicken in green sauce and a fish dish (forgot name, little spicy) then a coke, horchata and a pineapple drink. We got chips, cheese, sauce while waiting. Those were all nicely done but average. Dishes out maybe 10 min later. All presented well and hot. We shared each dish. Lamb tacos nicely done, little dry, but they give you some guacamole, a brown sauce, along with the green sauce and cheese with the tortilla chips. Nice, not fatty. Next was the chiles en nogada. First time tried this and really enjoyed, many flavors and nicely flavored beef. In general little on sweet side, so probably couldn't eat more than 1. The chicken in green sauce was a homey, comfort food. Nicely cooked chicken leg and thigh was an ever so slightly spicy sauce. Also came with tortilla wraps and Spanish riceLastly was the spicy baked fish. Done well, fell apart pretty easily, was spicy, but not too much. Had green beans on side done well, not too soft or hard, and Spanish rice. Drinks were all a hit. Coke is coke. Horchata and pineapple juice served in big mugs. Pineapple tastes freshly squeezed and horchata was a super solid example in every way. Oh almost forgot, later in the meal we figured out how to get the 2 guitar fellows to play for us. 2 songs for 300 peso, about 7min total. They did a good job with both the guitar and singing, was enjoyable to listen to them. Would stop back again if in area.

Very busy restaurant and located in a very lovely area. The staff was amazing and in sync. We started with some cocktails - the guava mezcalita and jamaica mezcalita and also the chardonnay that was very tasty. Here's what we had: -Tostadas de atun(tuna tostadas)- must get -Ensalada de Pulpo con patatas tibias con albhaca(octopus with potatoes and basil) - octopus wasn't very good and there was no flavor -Pescado à la talla Contramar(grilled whole fish with salsas on top)I would only get the one with just the red sauce, the green sauce didn't have a lot of flavor. This is very filling and enough for 4 people -Tacos de Pescado estilo Ensenada(fried fish tacos) - these were ok The dessert, though!! This is what the extra star is for - The Meringue with Fresas(meringue cake with strawberries)- OMG soooo good. Even after how incredibly full we were, we could not stop eating this. Delicious and so unique but with the classic flavor of strawberries and whipped cream. Don't forget to add a carajillo! À delicious coffee drink with coffee liqueur.

Maybe there's a bit of a translation mix up or Mexicans and Americans have different ideas of what a casserole is, but it was more like a soup. I wasn't mad, in fact, it was incredibly delicious and filling, but I was a bit confused at first. The owner was on hand and when we ordered coffee we tried to make sure that make sure that they would have milk. He said we wouldn't need it and while we still were adamant about the milk, we held off once he suggested we try it before he brought out milk. He was so right. Our mistake (and we owned up to that)! We were having Cafe de Olla! Served in cute little clay pots, this sweet but not overly so, is spiced with piloncillo, dark brown sugar, cinnamon and a few other spices.
