Shao Lin - Sushi, crab roll, salmon sashimi and tuna tartare. The tuna me crab looked nothing like the menu.

A man can only eat so many tapas, so one night we decided to try some Asian food on our trip to…read moreSitges. This place came highly recommended by some friends, though maybe their expectations were lower or mine were just to high. Shao Lin is an all you can eat (no buffet) restaurant where you can order unlimited sushi and stir fried dishes from a pretty large menu. You can also order a la carte if you're not that hungry. Prices are 15€-20€ for AYCE or 2€-5€ for a la carte. All items are ordered from a menu by marking up the quantities you'd like on a checklist provided by the restaurant. Just hand that over to your server and wait for your food to arrive. With excruciatingly slow service and restrained portions, don't expect this to be anything like a place say in Las Vegas. Drinks came out pretty fast but the rest was an exercise in patience. Many times servers would bring us plates that didn't belong to us, or asking a server for something resulted in a finger being lifted as to say just a minute. The food quality was good and cooked well, such as the stir fried noodles. All had decent flavor with a slight char. Sushi was pretty lame, stick to the sashimi (really fresh), and the tartare should be avoided. Ordering the tuna tartare resulted in a puck of gray goo that should be avoided at all costs. A standout was the almond crusted chicken. Super tender and flavorful though good luck trying to get a side of steamed rice to go with it. I'd say 3 1/2 Stars, marked up to 4. Yes, I would go back, but I'd stick to sashimi, noodles and a side of patience.

The menu was hard to interpret in English but we did our best communicating with our server. We ordered the chirashi salmon, beef gyozas and a special roll of aburi uramaki. The salmon in teh chirashi bowl were huge pieces and the gyoza came out hot. The aburi uramaki roll was flavorful and interesting to have tasted the grilled onion pieces on top. It was more than enough food for both of us and it kept us full but I think we were expecting sushi flavors similar to back home (which wouldn't make sense since we're in a completely different country that has a slightly different style). Like the udon listed, my mom thought it would be the soup style but it was more like black bean noodles so I dunno. Great place for takeout since seating area is small. We were the only patrons eating in so service was on point lol

The salmon was especially tasty in sashimi and nigiri, but they had this tartar salmon dish that was also quite good and very unique. The service was speedy and friendly and I would go back in a heartbeat.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!
