I truly have to highlight Pepe, Franco, and Grace for taking the time to speak to us and get to know us. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the seafood paella, jamon iberico, garlic shrimp, and sangria. The paella was filled with a ton of flavor which was DELICIOUS. Everything was fantastic, but the Sangria was spectacular, (probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had). At the end of our meal, Pepe brought us two liquor de Limon shots, which made our whole night!! Definitely recommend this place in the La Latina neighborhood. You won't regret it!

It has that classic bustling tapas bar energy where everyone is close enough to feel like part of one big conversation. The food was the highlight. The clams were flavorful and fresh, the octopus was cooked beautifully and the paella was delicious. It is a great place to stop in for a drink and a quick bite, especially if you want something authentic and lively. When we visited, it was packed to the point where you were shoulder to shoulder with other guests and close enough to easily hear the party next to you. It adds to the charm if you enjoy that classic crowded European dining atmosphere, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer more space.

The staff is outstanding, always there to help We stayed 3 nights, would have stayed 4, but our first time there they were fully booked for the next night. On our return trip we made sure we booked the 2 nights ahead of time. We had started our trip in Budapest where our Viking river cruise began. It was our first time on such a fancy trip. We are Pilgrims at heart, which is why we extended our trip for 3 more weeks. We ended in Amsterdam but took a train to Lourdes, then Bayonne, we were looking to hike an obscure Camino route " Camino del Batzon". It went from Bayonne to Pamplona. After our first day we found how obscure it was, Almost all the hotels had shut down due to lack of pilgrims. Time for plan B, we decided to go directly to Pamplona. We backtracked to Bayonne, then a bus to Pamplona, where our first stay was at this hotel. What a great city and made better by our hosts, so we hiked from Pamplona to Longrona and back. This was our shortest Camino, but I can now say I've been on all 5 of the major ones. Three complete from 2015, over 850 kilometers and 4 credentials We have stayed in Alburques on every Camino, so don't think this is an "Alburque", it's a nice place to re center. So thank you Hotel Campanilla for making everything easy and welcoming of Pilgrims. Buen Camino.

Arriving at around 3:45pm the lunchtime crowd was clearing out, they seat about ~40 people inside and the restaurant was about 50-60% full at that time, petering out to around 10 or so people by close to 5pm. Staff mostly spoke Spanish and menu was in Spanish which was ok with assistance from google translate. (Used the functionality that translates words directly on screen when hovering over text with a camera.) Most of the dishes seemed larger based on the prices so we stuck with the tapas in an effort to try a variety of different items. Food came out within 5-15 minutes, in the order as below: - house olives and bread: ok bread wasn't exactly special, it was a plain roll, though at least decently fresh. The olives were really tasty, not too salty with a little kick from what I think were pimentos. - Gazpacho" Vaso" €6.50: this was a cold tomato and cucumber based soup and their version was cool, refreshing and balanced. Served in a glass which was different than what you'd normally expect. - Pulpo y Papa y Mojo (octopus with potato and mojo sauce) €10.50: the mojo sauce was an avocado sauce and the potato looked like it'd been braised, still solid though soft. Octopus cooked perfectly and sliced thinly, sprinkled with paprika. Yum! - Albóndigas de Merluza (2 unidades) (hake fritters, 2 pieces) €6.00: these were almost like fish and chips, textbook crispy exterior with tender moist fish on the inside. Served with greens snd and some matchstick fries, this was a nice touch. - Chuletas de Conejo (rabbit chops) €8.50: these were essentially sections from rabbit loins. Looks like they'd been either pan-fried or oven-roasted. Very light, savory and not gamey as I thought they might be. Almost like miniature chicken wings without the skin. - house red vermouth €3.5/4?: staple mildly sweet aperitif in Spain and enjoyed the one I had here. They take cash and chipped cards. There are a couple bathrooms in the back. I felt staff was overall accommodating and helpful. Enjoyed my experience here and would recommend!
