First, the restaurant is small from the outside. Seriously, you need to use a gps to find the entrance but once you do and walk inside you'll be treated to a an interior that is welcoming and comfortable. The food is great, from the patata bravas, the goat cheese salad and salmon, all dishes are delicious. Haven't had a bad dish at all. Wine selection is fairly comprehensive but hey, this is Spain after all so that's expected. Try any of the local Malaga wines and you won't be disappointed. Service is great and friendly. Carolina is an awesome server so definitely ask for her when you go by, though all the servers are wonderful so you'll get great service regardless. Can't recommend this place enough. If you're in Malaga you should definitely be outside the door at 7p when they open!

Horrible service from a condescending and misgonystic waiter. We asked to have only a coffee and sat outside to enjoy the street live musicians. At the end the waiter constantly made condescending nasty remarks how we spent only 4 euros and not enough money to sit at his tables. He continued telling us that we are just American woman on vacation in Málaga. Then pushed my friend on her shoulder and yelled at us to get out of his restaurant. He continued to yell at us as we walked down the street. We were disgusted and immediately told the police nearby who accompanied us to the restaurant to help us file a formal complaint with the city hall. Of course with the presence of the police he was respectful and polite only to the police. But he continued to make nasty comments about women and the police had to ask him to sit quietly as we filed a formal complaint. He didn't stop and told me good luck filling out the form because it's not in English! LoL We all know how Americans are so uneducated right? The police spoke no English so how did I explain the situation... Maybe this silly American is studying Spanish in Spain?? Nah we are just uneducated American tourists. I strongly do not recommend this establishment and hope no one has to suffer this behavior for buying a coffee and sitting outside for 40 minutes. If there was a minimum to sit down he could have told us and we would have made a decision to stay or leave. Many cities with restaurants in prime locations make there expectations clear and we respect that. But it's not acceptable to treat people like second class for not spending enough. Stay away.

It's right by the Picasso museum. The foie gras were tasty. Tuna had very interesting and diverse flavors. Service is slightly slow because of the amount of people that they serve at any given time. So yes understandably, you will probably have to flag your waiter/waitress if you want anything after your initial order is taken because it can seem a little chaotic. The place is total old school Andalusia. How about the food? The food is just as authentic as the look of this place, which is always packed. I had the typical tomato salad with fish which is always delicious because the basic ingredients are always so fresh. Tomatoes stand out here because they are soo good. I enjoyed patatas bravas, salpicon, gildas, jamon, olives and croquetas de toro. What better to wash it all down with than a cup of Jerez amontillado and a glass of tinto de verano. Those that have left mediocre reveiws probably don't know what to expect or have no idea what to order, which, will probably end in an unfavorable experience. If you want a genuine experience of Malaga, then this place should be on your list of places to eat.

However, the one disappointment was ironically the most expensive dish we ordered: the Langostinos al Pil Pil (€12). We were expecting nice, plump prawns, but what arrived were tiny shrimp. They really should have called the dish "Camaroncitos al Pil Pil" instead of langostinos! Other than that, everything was excellent. Just a heads-up for anyone ordering the langostinos: don't expect large prawns!

We started with a local White Wine. Eresma Verdejo (2022)-light and on the drier side-we enjoyed it. For Tapas, it was Patatas Bravas-crispy potatoes with a tasty aioli. Fried Eggplants were delicious. The difference in Malaga is they use Molasses vs Honey which was the case in Barcelona. Last but not least is this spot's specialty-Espeto. Sardines on a stick grilled over charcoal. Besides Vendors on the Beach, this is the only spot in the city you can get it prepared this way. Watched the Chef prepping them-smoky and a must try! Saw a Charcuterie board for another party and it looked delicious. Interestingly, Mentidero means liar. Service was upbeat and friendly. Great atmosphere, food and a taste of Local Flavor.

I'd been planning to hit this place all week, and finally was able to make it. I'd been wanting to try their authentic fire cooked Espetos de Sardina, sardine skewers, and my last night in Málaga, a Monday, was going to be it. Unfortunately, Mondays they don't do any of the skewers. Turns out they have one guy who specializes in this sort of Malagan cuisine, and he has Mondays off. So, no sardine skewers for me. I was major disappointed. I did get some fried sardines and a some other dishes, along with a really good sangria. Still, I couldn't help but think about what I really wanted. Wait staff was nice and attentive. They switched to English when they heard my accent, but were fine switching back to Spanish when I kept at it. That was nice too. Cost on the higher side, but not outrageous. 3 plates and 2 sangrias set me back €35. Way more did than I could possibly consume. 2 plates would've been sufficient for 1 person.

The staff is so incredibly kind, the sangria was the best that I've EVER had, seriously I don't remember what she told me they put in it but between three of us we drank two large pitchers. The food is incredibly outstanding, there's a vegetarian menu AND a regular menu. I was so blown away by everything we went back TWICE in the four days we spent. My friends that ate off the regular menu were just as impressed with their food. Do yourself a favor and go to Andino and meet the wonderful people that run this place because their story is inspiring and I can't express enough how elated we were after this meal.
