This was one of many stops into shops along this popular, bustling street packed with many store options. I was drawn in by the brilliant colors and different styles of the shirts hanging on racks outside. We were only able to pop into a handful of places along this street, but this was the only one to ask us not to come in with our ice cream. This was also the only one where the gentleman was able to discuss who had made the different items and the care taken in their construction. And I speak Spanish, but it was nice that the two people working in this store spoke both English and Spanish, so friends with me who spoke only English could be helped as well. I was not ready to buy something the first time through, but when I returned later to purchase a shirt, the woman in the store took time with me to find different colors and styles. Even in the unfortunately brief amount of time I had available, she was attentive. Upon finding a shirt I liked, but that was too snug in the hips, the woman advised me on having someone else, or how I might take up the task myself, of loosening the sides. And despite how rushed I felt due to outside time constraints, I did not feel the woman was rushing me. If I was able to return to Tulum, this is the place I would go back to! And the shirt I did purchase for 600pesos or about $30 was well worth the cost. Constructed of thick, soft cotton, it didn't feel as if it would fall apart with wear over time. And the brilliant colors are just beautiful.

However, the jewelry selection was much better than any shopping are we experienced, including our hotel (Grand Park Royal). I purchased a cat-eye ring for around $70 for $63. In the USA, it's worth more. The stone is laid in 92.5 sterling silver and fits rather well, not overpowering to the look. I would go back just for the jewlry selection, but nothing more, that is why I gave it a 2-Star (at best).

Talking to other visitors It was evident that most excursions from all vendors were similar. Talked to some regular vacationers and locals and everyone recommended either renting a car n taking yourself to the parks or getting to ferry (we went to isla mujeres) on your own and avoiding being on the 'tours' schedule n taking control of your time. We literally wasted half our vacation getting from rally to rally point where more stuff was being sold wasting precious time listening to 'options' was frustrating but in the end it was my choice to purchase and as a first time visitor learned a lot.
