El Depósito: the beer bar from Guadalajara that has opened up quite some locales in Mexico City throughout the years. I've been visiting their bars off and on through the past three years and although I started out as a fan, it slowly turned into disliking the place.
They used to offer mainly Mexican brews, but have now switches to a more international selection. Mexican or not: the beers are usually overpriced. Additionally, the staff usually doesn't know much about the beer they're selling apart from the style and where it's from. But no information on, for example, flavor, notes, hoppiness etc.
The food you'll find here is your typical bar food: pizza, fries and some other finger foods that go well with a glass of beer. The pizza is good, but the rest is just ok. Again, the pizza is fairly pricy considering the size.
So overall it's fine, it just doesn't offer anything special really. When no other bars are nearby, I'll go here and I'll have a good time. But I'd prefer to go somewhere else where the atmosphere is friendlier and the beer is nicer and cheaper too. read more
