You order at the bar and pick it up at the bar. You can sit wherever you like basically. We ordered fried croquettes, potato omelet, churros and tomato toast. The churros were our second favourite in Madrid. They weren't hot out of the frier but they were crispy and addictive. The tomato toast was a pass - nothing amazing and didn't have enough garlic. The croquettes came out piping hot. Nice and crispy. The potato omelet was also served cold but it went really well with the bread. I would imagine it was very delicious if it was hot. I would come back to try the other things on the menu as their menu is so big. They have lots of things that you could enjoy as snacks. A lot of locals come here and not a lot of tourists which is nice.

We don't (unfortunately) speak any Spanish but the staff were all lovely and accommodating anyway :) We ordered a burger and coffee each, and a plate of churros to share, which all came in at under €5 each and were absolutely delicious! Came across this place on Yelp and saw it had good reviews so I wanted to check it out for myself. Just the sight of people's pictures of the burgers made me really hungry and it was practically the only thing on my mind all day. Decided to make it a night out, and reserved a table relatively late into the evening. Finding the place was more than alright. It's hardly hard to miss. In the middle of Spain something America styled sticks out like a saw thumb. As I don't speak much Spain, I was worried that communicating was going to be a little tough but turned out to be more than alright. There was a tone of options on the menu to choose from but had to stick with what I saw on the website which was Pulled Pork Burger, Chicken Stripes and Chips with bacon on. When the food came I was pretty overwhelmed if I'm honest. I got my money's worth. I thought I'd get three or four Chicken Stripes but turns out it was a basket. The burger was really big and chock full as well. It was really yummy and didn't even touch the sides. I couldn't manage it all so some of it had to be taken back in a bag which I'll eat at home. We walked into this small but crowded joint and never been so glad to have made the pit stop. The specialties are definitely the grilled sardines and the grilled peppers. Sprinkled with some sea salt and voila, I teared up when feasting on them. The people watching experience was awesome too! We found it quite comical the various ways people attempted to eat a sardine. Some gnawed on its side, some tried to peel off the flesh with their fingers...we even saw one trying to take the skin off first! Wow, omg hilarious! Whatever ways tickle your fancy, as long as you can get these succulent fish in your mouth and taste it you will not regret it. My husband vows by my technique which he claims work the best. I accredit it to my Asian background. Fish is served whole where I grew up. Since the fish fits in the mouth, pick it up by the tail. Bite off the head first. Trust me it's not gross. The fish had been deep fried so well the head is a tasty crunch. Slowly then use your teeth to lightly peel or grind off the flesh using an upward motion, and what's left is the main spine with tiny bones. Lastly, you must eat the tail. That, as you can imagine, made it extremely difficult & messy for us to consume the otherwise yummy tasting sardines. A heaping plate of sardines is only 3.60 euros, and we were thankful to only have ordered half portion which was more than enough for the two of us. What we did enjoy, was the Pimentos de padron - a type of green chillies known as padron, pan fried & sprinkled with sea salt. Yummy! It was soft and tasty, a bit on the salty side. The beer complements everything perfectly, and we saw many people eating bread with their meal (we opted out of the bread because there was too high a consumption of bread on our trip in Spain). Overall, it would've definitely been a 4-5 star rating if the sardines didn't have scales on them. It was a fun experience! PS. One of the gentlemen working pointed me in the right direction and I vowed after that to come back before I left. And I am so glad that I did! Walked in and I was usure where to sit, but was welcomed to a small table for two. My order for wine was immediately taken and a side of pasta was brought out--it was delicious!! It was about a half a cup of pasta with some tuna in it and a light dressing. After finishing my waiter returned and asked if I wanted something else. I asked for their pollo ajilio, which I thought was going to just be chicken and garlic. Boy, I was so wrong. About 20 minutes later the waiter brings out a large platter of pappas (potatoes) and grilled pollo (chicken). The pollo and pappas were a little salty for me, but had a nice mild flavor. And some of the chicken bones were a little crunchy. While I ate the waiter checked on me, but otherwise just let me read and eat for as long as I wanted. There was no way I could take my food home, so the waiter boxed it up for me. Will be eating it over the next few days! The service and atmosphere are great, I felt very welcome! I was surprised by the size of the food and based on the lack of seasonings I may order something else the next time. I am not giving up on this restaurant just yet!!

Each of us ordered a glass of cider which surprisingly came with a free (yay!) tapa... unfortunately the tapa was literally a version of cold cocktail weenies and potatoes in sauce that slightly resembled bbq... which was not great. I think we ate all the potatoes and left the tiny hotdogs alone. Decided not to order anything further after the free tapa was such a disappointment and carried on with our afternoon stroll.
