I took the English tour. The tour guide was super friendly and very knowledgeable. The winery is one of the most sustainable wineries in Spain, possibly at top the the list. I highly recommend a visit when in the Logroño area.

What a place and what an experience at Campo Viejo. The number one thing was service service…read moreservice. We basically closed down the winery that afternoon and we left because we wanted to, because they would have continued to serve us, that's how great the staff was. Now let's talk wine, I love wine but don't knwo much about specific wines, however I didn't need to know the staff was knowledgeable for both of us. The tour was great and the tasting even better. They were not shy with the portions. The tasting also includes some snacks, they do not serve food so make sure you are not expecting to eat there. The views were phenomenal. We didn't get to do a walk of the vines because of the heat. Would have been added bonus to so that, nonetheless they allowed us to get near and see them and take photos which was perfect for us. Overall a great experience!!! Would go back when visiting that area or Spain. Will be buying the one state side as well!!!

I returned today with a group of seven friends. We had a 12:30pm reservation for brunch. I was surprised to find out we were forced to sit outside--the temperature was 3° C today. There is a heat lamp but it was still like sitting in a freezer outside. "We only serve brunch outside," said the waiter. Ninety minutes later, when we paid the check, i went inside to go to the bathroom and I was shocked to see that in the dining room how many people were eating in there: exactly zero! I am quite annoyed that a restaurant of this high status cannot be more accommodating and have better hospitality. They could have easily moved us inside. I am not sure if I will be returning on future visits.

The texture of the mushroom is perfectly tender (not rubbery). The sauce they pour over them brings the magic umami flavors. The sauce is fat based (oil or butter) with garlic and other unknown magic seasonings. They only make one food, mushrooms, but you wouldn't want anything else. The place is small and popular. It gets super crowded quicky. They open at 7:15pm, which is early time to eat in Spain. However I recommend coming not too long after they open so you can get ahead of the crowds and get place at bar.

This place is iconic. The first thing I would do if I'm ever back in La Rioja is to come here. My husband and I came to Bar Soriano at the request of his cousins who have lived in Logroño for about 20+ years. We tried different "pinchos" (snacks eaten in different bars) on this main street but they told us this place was a MUST. The line was long and the place doesn't look like much, but believe me, totally totally worth it. I cannot explain how good these are. All they do is sell garlic buttery mushrooms + bread and liquor and they have managed to stay in business for YEARS. 100% RECOMMEND. GO IN, AND ENJOY!

The head chef and his brother who is the somm, do a great job curating a menu that utilizes local grown ingredients and a nice wine pairing to go along with the dishes. The restaurant is located in a small village off the beaten path. It's a fine dining establishment with an elegant, quiet dining room but with a relaxed enough atmosphere where you are made to feel comfortable. The first part of the meal is enjoyed outside by the garden where we were served a sparkling wine and several appetizers while we chatted with the chef. You can see the many different fruits and vegetables they grow and pick themselves. The remainder of the meal was served back in the main dining room. I can't remember how many dishes we had exactly but I think it was a total of nine, after the appetizers and not including the desserts. I wish they would have provided a souvenir menu for us to take home so I could remember all of the dishes and what they consisted of. All I can say is that the food was delicious and so flavorful. Definitely worth the drive if you're exploring the small towns outside of Logroño.

The surrounding area is beautiful. Gorgeous short road trip (20 mins) from Logroño. I'm just gonna say it, better food and wine experience than Marques de Riscal.
