Jefferey at the front was so kind and helpful as I signed up for the membership. He enlightened me what the membership has to offer. This entails a month of activities, and discounted ($5) lunches (must make reservations at least a day in advance) daily. A calendar of the activities and meals for the month is available. I signed up for the membership, for the Ukelele beginners class. I will begin that in the 3rd week of January, but was invited to sit in the last class for the year. It was great, the instructor was personable and witty. The attendees that I had met were friendly and talented. The instructor and some of the regulars made sure to invite me to stay and watch the people that stay and play together for and hour or so. I did sit in after lunch (senior lunch offered at the Community Center). I was quite surprised at the number of people that attended. I'd say about 30 people! It was nice to listen to the instruments, some guitars and even a flutist was in the mix of ukelele player's. It was quite beautiful listening to Christmas music this way. They have this every Friday! I think I will be sitting in often just to listen and possibly learn something as well. I decided in advanced I would give the lunch a try, so I made my call a day in advance. I was told you could make reservations for the entire month if you wanted, not just a day. After sitting in on the ukelele class I walked across the way to the Fallbrook Community center where the lunch is served. I signed in at the table, checked off my name on the list and donated $5. Pick up your salad and roll at the lunch window and have a seat, and the meal will be served to you along with a drink. They had live music. Round tables are set up and their were quite a few people, I'm sure some are regulars. The ladies that I sat with were regulars. They have someone walking around making sure your drinks are filled and clearing out any empty dishes. Great lunch and got to meet some new people. I may be a senior, but I sure don't have a senior appetite just yet, lol. Your food pyramid is covered though, and probably the correct amount I should be eating. I would definitely have another bite here sometime and have a chance to meet some new people. They have a Senior thrift store which I have been coming to occasionally in search of anything that could be utilized for camping. Lots of things, furnishing too. I'm glad to be a member and will take advantage of some of the cool things they have to offer. I'm totally excited for the ukelele classes.

Great events, activities,trips and food. Every other Wednesday night is BINGO. Monday thru Friday they serve up some great lunches for just a few dollars donation. They also run a home delivered lunch program which I understand may be discontinued due to lack of funding. If you got it, you should contribute to it for your meals. Donations are always appreciated and welcomed. Please remember them in your wills.

I reserved the event about two months in advance and they require payment 30 days before day of the event. Seemed like an easy process. When I reserved the event, Marisa walked me through it. We opted for the recreation room since we expected a big party. We were in communication with the staff about table set up and expectations of the center including no alcohol, reduction of plastic products, and rules of the facility. There's plenty of parking around the area and a small parking lot across the street. We had a great event. I set 1.5 hours before and after the event, but we spent more time decorating than cleaning. The kitchen we rented is a warming kitchen meaning we can heat and refrigerate our food but it's not a kitchen for making food, esp raw food. Def something to look into if you want a clean space located in a nice area near Downtown Carlsbad!

The Recreation Hall can hold up to 85 guests. They offered the tables and chairs at no additional cost. The facility was clean and easy to get to, located right off the 5 freeway. Small parking lot, but there is close by street parking available. It is just a few blocks down from all the shopping and cool eateries in Carlsbad Village and the Beach. You have to get permits if you want to serve alcohol. Rental prices seem reasonable with published rates at around $60. They offer discounts if you are a resident or a local non-profit organization. Good place for meetings, or small weddings.

I wanted to share some thoughtful feedback that I believe could elevate this location even more. I've visited other Planet Fitness locations, like Long Beach, and noticed they offer a slightly wider range of equipment. It seems those locations attract strong engagement from members who are looking to grow in their fitness journey. I completely understand and appreciate that Planet Fitness aims to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment. That's what makes it special. At the same time, I believe there's an opportunity to gently evolve in a way that still honors that mission while helping members progress. Introducing a few additional pieces of equipment--such as a squat rack, a hip thrust machine, and even something like a spotlight mirror for progress photos--could make a meaningful difference. These additions don't have to be overwhelming; starting with just one of each would allow members to gradually become familiar and build confidence over time. For many members, growth comes from small steps outside their comfort zone. Providing access to these tools in a supportive environment could actually help reduce gym anxiety, not increase it. It creates a space where members feel empowered to improve at their own pace. I truly believe these additions would bring more positives than negatives, helping members become their best selves while also strengthening the appeal of this location.
