Our guide recommended both El Cuartito and Guerrin, and we definitely preferred El Cuartito. The…read moredough comes out piping hot and perfectly crispy the way we love it. I also appreciated that you can order individual slices of specific flavors and sit down to enjoy them. We had a slice of Margherita and another with sweet red peppers and green olives. Both were gooey with cheese and absolutely delicious.
We also shared a beef empanada, which was fantastic. Most of the customers seemed to be locals, but we even saw a group come in with carry-on suitcases, so clearly this place is a must-visit! The staff was friendly and patient, even with our limited Spanish. Just a note: Argentine cheese tends to be softer and fresher than what we're used to, so even if you are not lactose, there's a small chance you maybe here in Argentina.
