Wow. Wow. Wow. El clandestino is hands down a must visit while in Barceloneta. They take classic recipes of Puerto Rico and give it an updated/ modern twist. Our server was great and attentive and as for the location...what a gem the beach view is with the drive! What a beautiful relaxing way to spend an afternoon

Pulpo and tostones

If you pass this restaurant and don't stop, you will regret it. Theres parking right outside and across the road and its 1000% worth it. They have drinks to go in big pouches with straws and their drinks are so good. Once you order, you take a number and walk to the back where there are benches and little tables that are so nice and look over the beach that you could stay forever. I believe there is a time limit at the restaurant which I understand because it is just so peaceful there. The service was very fast and the pulpo and tostones were such a good snack with their drinks. I will be back!

What a great roadside find. The place was active on a Sunday evening, but ample parking across the street in their own lot. We were able to quickly order our food at the front of the restaurant, with all of the seating in the back. In the back, on the beach area, there was ample seating, and we appreciated the fires going to get the mosquitoes away. The music in the background was a nice touch. We got our food and drinks pretty quickly. I had a mixed drink (I can't for the life of me remember what it's called), but it had plenty of alcohol in it. My wife and I split the pastellitos and three tacos. Steak pastellito- great flavor, plenty of meat Chicken pastellito- good ratio of cream cheese to chicken Salmon pastellito- I didn't try, but my wife said it was fishy (we aren't super diehard seafood eaters so I'm sure if you are, it'll be good) We got three tacos (tres cerditos)- plenty full and had great flavor. No complaints at the place, and everything was great!

Great beach restaurant. A friend suggested we visit this place while in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This was located about an hour west from where we were staying in San Juan (Coronado area) and well worth it. When we got there at about 12 PM they were not open yet. There was a line forming already so we asked one of the people in line when they open and she said 12:30 PM. We decided to go to the back, which is facing the beach to find many people waiting for them to open as well. There are many benches and tables in the back to lounge in so people were just hanging out and enjoying the view. When it was time to order, I noticed that most people were ordering their empanadas, so we decided to give that a try along with steak tacos. Delicious! They have a variety of protein to choose from like chicken, beef, steak, so we chose beef, which came with sweet plantains and cheese inside. So good. I highly recommend. I asked the server to surprise me with a cocktail that was refreshing and had alcohol in it. What she brought was really good and sorry I don't have the name of it. It went well with the empanadas. We stayed for a couple hours, eating and enjoying the view before taking off and continuing our road trip around the island. Since we got there pretty early in Puerto Rican time (nothing happens too early), we found parking along the road but when we left at about 2PM, it was a little chaotic. I remember thinking TG we came when we did. If you can, check this place out.

The famous picture. We were not laughing when we got back to the table hahaha...

Perfect place to stop for a snack or a drink if you're on a roadtrip. Located in Arecibo, the north coast of the island. Plenty of parking space across the street. Huge selection of cocktail/mocktails. Great variety of "frituras" but the turnovers were the best. We ordered an assortment of them, delicious! The views are top notch. The only issue we had was that we stand off the table to take some pictures for just a few mins and when we returned they had lifted everything from the table. Even new drinks we just had ordered, the food, everything. We were shocked. When we talked to the server, she said there was nothing there. That really pissed me off, it was a straight lie. We asked to talk to the manager and she agreed to remake the drinks at least. We were having such a great time and enjoying our time there so much that for that to happen was really a shame. Even though that happened the food was great, the ambience was great and the drinks were awesome. Just don't get up your table! Hahaha...

It is a place consistent in its offer and service. Highly recommended to share with family or couple. Has food, appetizers, drinks and cocktails. Right in front of the sea. The most challenging is its parking, which due to the crowded tends to be limited and complex. But is it worth it if you're looking for something relax.

Empanadas + tostones rellenos

Cute little stand off the road on the way to El Cuevo del Indio. Lunch with a view! We ordered the selection of 5 empanadas and tostones rellenos to share for a party of 2. There was some covered seating and outdoor seating as well, with a wonderful beach view! The food came out pretty fast and was delicious! They also served alcoholic drinks as well. Wonderful little find and stop for lunch for a day trip from San Juan

Cheers to the view. This is from me sitting in the back.

Look up the bar on Google for proper info- the hours are wrong here. This place is our favorite local spot that we've introduced to our family in the area. First things first, they run on island time. So, if you need booze- order a well drink or beer. Mojitos can take a while when they're busy and/or understaffed. But, who cares? You're in paradise. They have the best ceviche I've had since I was in Peru. Their drinks are strong and tasty. And the views...I mean come on. They have these pouches they put 24oz if mojito in and you kinda feel like you're in a tropical Vegas Have the shrimp empanadillas- they are the best. Everything we've ordered we loved. Come here, you won't be disappointed!

We stopped in to check out the drinks and views. I've seen this place packed in the past and I'm not a fan of crowds so I stayed away BUT this day was my lucky Friday afternoon! The views alone would make you stop but don't miss out on the delicious mojitos and the appetizers!! Service was super friendly also! The best pastelillos I've ever had and I love trying them every place I've stopped! These were so good we even brought some home with us. I'm sure I gained like 5lbs extra after this pit stop! Well worth it!! Don't pass this place up! Parking can be an issue on a busy day so just be safe! Enjoy the beach views in the back. Great picture spot!!

I found this place on google. Drove an hour from San Juan and wasn't disappointed. The drinks are delicious, the food is even better and I love that you can walk onto the beach. The service was great and the waitresses were very attentive. I would recommend to anyone in town or visiting. We got the coconut margarita in a pouch and they were delicious!
