So, after staring down the menu longer than I should, I finally ordered the Los Tres Amigos. It came with a spinach burrito, cheese enchilada and soft bean taco. I even took it up a step more and added the crema salad that came with my hubby's meal (he didn't know). It was so delicious! Not sure how friendly it's going to be with my stomach later, but at the time it had my stomach full and happy!! My husband purchased the Beef Chimichanga. It was a marinated beef and deep-fried stuffed flour tortilla with cheese sauce. He raved that the meal was amazing! I was too full to try anything else, so I am going to take his word that it was enjoyable:) The food was prepared and seasoned well, the restaurant was lit and clean. Customer service was great. We enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back for more.

I ordered El Vegetarian which is a spinach burrito & cheese enchilada both topped with salsa verde served with rice and beans. The atmosphere was just ok to me. The tv's were on though on HGTV with no sound. There was no music playing either so I dined alone and had to listen to the kitchen hustle and bustle or the other bar patrons who were on FaceTime repeatedly in public without earbuds. The service was good though he asked me repeatedly if I wanted another drink when I was barely half way through a draft beer. It made me feel rushed to finish it so I didn't. There isn't a bar tender so each server makes their own drinks. You won't find a variety of cocktails; just jarred margarita mix and house tequila. At least they measured properly

Food was great and authentic. The Cubana Torta is another thing in itself! Huge, with hot dogs sticking out the side and the kitchen sink ingredients on the inside. Freddie got half of it down and packed up the other half to take home to his wife. It's a cultural experience trying to eat the whole thing yourself. Since the last time I was here they have added a very nice outdoor covered area to the left of the restaurant...nicely decorated and a perfect place to enjoy Mexican food weather permitting!!! Families, dates or just team gatherings fill the room along with the beautiful bright murals on the walls. The staff is super attentive and the service is absolutely exceptional. The pork belly chicharones were definitely the star of my meal. Fried perfectly and a good ratio of fat to lean meat, it was a 10/10. Hit it with some fresh lime juice and it sets it off! The esquites and carne asada taco were a miss for me. The esquites lacked depth of flavor, tasted like they just had canned corn that was warmed up and topped with condiments. Not terrible but again, nothing special. The carne asada taco was tough, literally and figuratively. It wasn't seasoned and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. This is still a go to spot...not pictured are the AMAZING soups they make.

I've never had a bad experience with the dozens upon dozens of To-Go orders I've placed or when eating in. My son's go to meal is the cheese enchiladas with rice (with queso to go on to the rice) and fish tacos. My hubby typically goes for the grilled tilapia plate with a side of flour tortillas and a couple fish tacos, while I usually go for the pollo fundido (or beef enchiladas with rice, topped with queso, & a hard beef taco)... but I've yet to find anything on their menu that wasn't great, so it's all about what you're in there mood for. Currently they don't serve alcohol, but that will probably change within the next year or so... but don't let that deter you. Their to-go food is always hot & fresh, so I grab some Dos Eques (beer) for my hubby from the store in the way back home. We really are fortunate to have a great little restaurant so close to our Gilbert/Leesville home (where there's so few options)! Every local should make this their 1st choice for dining in or out.

The complimentary chips and salsa were solid, nothing fancy, just the regular version you expect. The Cuervo margarita was better than I expected, really well-balanced, refreshing, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. My Nacho Fajitas tasted great too mixed with large amount of beef and chicken. The Birria Tacos were interesting. The seasoning is bold and may not be for everyone, but they were worth trying and I kept the consommé of this dish hoping to figure out the ingredients of it. Overall we both enjoyed the food and drinks and would happily come back.

It's always the first restaurant we recommend to friends and family visiting Columbia. One of the things that makes this location so special is that it's family owned and operated. Every time you visit, you're likely to see a member of the family working, whether they're serving tables, bartending, or greeting guests at the register. That personal touch is something you don't find everywhere, and it's one of the reasons we keep coming back. Most recently, my boyfriend and I celebrated both of us starting new jobs here, just like my family has done for so many other milestones over the years. It felt like the perfect place to mark another exciting chapter. As for the food, you really can't go wrong. The fajitas are always a favorite, especially with the chunky guacamole and queso. If you're looking for a huge sandwich, the Tony's Torta definitely lives up to its reputation. And of course, the margaritas are always a must. Great food, friendly people, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere keep us coming back year after year.
