The carnitas, my go to at Mexican restaurants, we're the best I had. My wife loves birrias and it was excellent as well. We had Street corn, cachete tacos. The rest of our table had chile relleno, shrimp tacos more machete tacos. Everything was exceptionally delicious. Service was quick and we also tried out the salsa bar. The selection ran from mild to spicy (habenero) with all the salsa carrying great flavor. A hidden gem was the pickled onions that held some spice as well. It paired wonderfully with the carnitas. Great selection of Mexican beers and an in-house sangria. This is a great choice it you are in the mood for a more authentic Mexican food experience.

The place is lively, and has ac inside to keep you cool in the summer heat. They give you a nice basked of bread when you arrived and large drinks. I ordered the shrimp appetizer for dinner and it was so good. I didn't leave a single bite for leftover. My daughter got a burger and it was pretty big for kids size! It also came with fruit which was appreciated. My husband got the po boy and also enjoyed it. The server was very friendly, helpful, and took time talking to us. We will absolutely return the next time we are in town!

We started with a carafe of blood orange mimosas. The flavor was great! I would've liked a little bit more chilled but nothing a little ice couldn't take care of. I went with the grilled Romaine salad. What an awesome choice. The Romain was grilled to perfection and topped with a lot of crumbled blue cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, pistachios, bacon, and blueberries. The fried oysters we're served to the side of the salad and they were not too heavily battered and made a delicious compliment to this amazing salad. The warm Maple bacon vinaigrette was absolutely delicious. I will not be just passing by this pace anymore - it actually might become one of my regular stops!

The decorations and atmosphere was very nice, but the place was somewhat noisy. All of our dishes were good, but had a little bit of heat to them. I've never had Arroz con Pollo be spicy and I typically do not care for spicy foods. I had them leave out the peppers, onions and mushrooms and add pineapple. Therefore, this was not my favorite Mexican place that we have eaten and will I go back? Probably not but if someone suggests it, I wouldn't turn them down, I will probably tell the waitress the next time to not add any peppery spices.

The apple butter on the litchfield was the best my family has ever had (an easy thing for us to agree on). They also have a great array of beers, with some nice local options. I will say that my Kentucky Cowboy milkshake was booze forward, so just a heads up if that's not your preference. I definitely would have chosen the Sweet Swine in hindsight. Ellen was a real gem though, as we had two coincidental issues with our food (not her fault at all) and she handled it like a real pro. Notable mentions were the escargot & fried scallops. DEFINITELY request bread because it's so fluffy and good. I went for the grouper special which was honestly the most unimpressive thing at the table and relatively bland. We tried a variety of steak from the New York strip, the dry aged ribeye, and the filet. They were all fine, but nothing superb. The BEST entree at the table was the elk tenderloin. It basically melted in your mouth. The table tried 3 different old fashions and were impressed with all of them. The wine list is EXTENSIVE and I didn't feel as though our server really helped sift through it or make recommendations so we went with the first red we saw and it was decent. Now the desserts may have just been the star of the show. From the pistachio ice cream to the dark chocolate creme brûlée... I'd go back just to sit at the bar for a drink and dessert!
