Low key pub, Excellent soup!…read more We found Stone Soup Cafe and Pub, St. Petersburg FL. It's at 42nd Ave., North in a little strip mall facing 16th St. and you really can only see it coming south on 16th St. I'll tell you where it is: about seven streets in and 7 half-streets north from the 30th Avenue North exit off 275. It's just off Haynes Road north, if you know where that is. Lots of parking It has a low-key pub look: dark, unassuming, cozy, lots of wood. Plenty of indoor tables for maybe 40, a full-bar pub on the far side with stools for a couple dozen, and some outdoor seating for about another dozen in a breezy covered hallway between buildings. At 11:30am on a Thursday, it had just opened. There were people there already, and it was packed by 11:45! It got really noisy, in a nice everyone-is-relaxed-here way. This place was new to us, and we knew all that was a good sign. We chose several crafts from about 50 varieties of beer, about a dozen on tap. We love that stuff, but our focus was the soup, and sure enough, the soup was very good! We chose among 4 soups which seemed to change daily, plus sandwiches and salads. The soups were veggie, shrimp corn-chowder/bisque, stuffed pepper soup, and mushroom soup. (Jun 2026). The veggie soup was good with tons of veggies. Several of us got shrimp bisque and liked the flavor a lot! Some got fresh crunchy caesar salad. One got a BST sandwich: "bacon spinach tomato". A nice stack of flavorful bacon, thin, perfectly crisp. Balsamic on the side. Very good! We had some minor thoughts: We expected toast in the BST, but is was bread. Good bread. But not toast. The veggie soup could have done with some zingier spiciness. And though the chowder had a rich savory shrimp flavor, the quote of the night was, "i found a shrimp"! Yeah, none to be seen. This soup was really worth it! Great flavors. Good prices. A nice T-shirt with a big pelican in Hawaiian shirt with a cocktail on the back! But i am giving it only 4-stars because of the missing shrimp. This is Florida! You can get shrimp. But dont be fooled by my whininess. We'll be back!

We also tried one of their specials, which was their take on a crab rangoon, and I have to say...it was 100% better than the traditional version! (Sorry, I missed the name of it!) The iced Thai tea was the perfect finishing touch. We sat outside, and while it was hot, the patio was surprisingly comfortable thanks to large umbrellas, fans running full blast, and ice-cold water available for guests to help themselves. The best part? Getting to chat with the owner. She is absolutely delightful, incredibly talented, and her passion for what she does really shines through. We'll definitely be back!

The vibe is very clean girl meets beach town energy. Bright space, cute patio, everyone somehow looks like they either just finished Pilates or are about to go on a boat. It's casual but still feels fun enough to stay awhile. Menu-wise, there are way too many things I want to try every time. The Hot & Crunchy Tuna bowl absolutely deserves its reputation, and the hot honey pizza was dangerously good. Also not enough people talk about the cookies because those things have no business being that addictive. What I like most is that nothing tastes overly "healthy." Everything still feels flavorful and satisfying instead of sad wellness food pretending to be exciting. I understand there are Ubereats orders, but it was very unfortunate I missed the entire half of the football game with my friends to wait for my food. Apparently there was a mix up, so they gave me free crab Rangoons in my order, which was very nice of them. Unfortunately, that was probably the tastiest thing I ate compared to my order I'm very picky on my pad Thai, so I wasn't expecting a lot, but it was probably one of the worst I had. The noodles were undercooked and somewhat hard, and there was slaw in the pad Thai?? I've never had pad thai with slaw in it. The flavor was just not there. I also love tofu in my pad thai bc it absorbs all the flavor but it was lackluster The crab fried rice was a little better and they gave you a decent amount of crab but again, it lacked flavor Overall, I wouldn't have waited over an hour for the food.

The bartender told me to check out the food truck outside, so I walked over expecting some wishy washy asian fusion that would be just okay. I was wrong, very wrong. My friend and I ordered the crab rangoon, the braised BBQ pork belly bao, the crispy garlic chicken, the shrimp pad thai, and the garlic crab fried rice. The food came out quickly and looked like classic Chinese takeout in the best possible way. The crab rangoon was perfectly light, crispy and warm. The pork belly bao was tender, juicy, and so full of flavor that my friend wouldnt stop talking about it. The pad thai dish had that perfect texture and bounce that many places struggle to get right. It had the ideal balance of egg, meat, bean sprouts, peanuts, and sauce. The crab fried rice had great flavor and came with a very generous amount of crab meat. The crispy garlic chicken is exactly that. It had an amazing crunch that lasted the entire meal without getting soggy and the garlic sauce flavors really came through and blended well with the spice. Oh yeah, there's heat in these dishes. I went back up to the chef and told him how impressed I was. I admitted that I expected something watered down, but instead I got legit Thai flavors (i'm Thai btw). He told me he is Thai too which connected all the dots. This was honestly one of the best Thai meals I have had in Tampa Bay, and it came out of a food truck. The ambience is cute and cozy with a few outdoor tables that is good perfect for the food, people watching, and chilling. Chef Steve is passionate about his food and is very friendly to all of his customers. His teammate Dillon was also very friendly.
