It´s enjoyed by locals since it's in a quieter area of Playa San Juan, with fewer tourists around. We went on a Sunday in November and the restaurant was packed! The waiter told us that November is the month less busy of the year... so I do not want to know how busy it gets the rest of the year. You would probably have to make a reservation. They offer all kind of menu´s we ordered a menu with lobster paella and had varies starters, like fried fish, squid etc. (16 euro p.p.). Everything was very tasty! Good price - quality relation. We ordered a wine from Alicante to go with it ( Marina Alta) 9 euro for the bottle. The service was friendly, the restaurant a bit noisy but that was ok for us. Casa Domingo perfect for Domingo lunch

People who sit at the bar are blessed with the bar menu; a short a simple set of offerings, all of which are delicious. The calamari are crispy on the outside with the most delicate meat. The grilled sepia (cuttlefish) is tender with a to-die for garlic/parsley/lemon olive oil. The boquerones (whole fried small fish) are fresh and crispy. The ensalada russa (Russian salad) is made daily and balanced well with mayo, tuna, and other ingredients (not just full of mayo like some places prepare it). The "wrinkled potatoes" were a hit with the group. The fried bacalao (cod) were tasty and crispy with a heavenly aioli. The fried shrimp were enjoyed whole, including the head! Service is also efficient and friendly. They just kept all the food coming as we ordered it. It wasn't lightning quick, because they actually prepared most of the food to order, but it was efficient and worth whatever we had to wait. The steady flow of drinks helped with that too. We enjoyed observing Miguel at work, who put up with all of our ordering with a smile and paid so much attention to detail in preparing food. I don't include price or value-for-money in my star rating, but it was a great plus that this place was very inexpensive. Most of the dishes above were 3-3.50 euros a piece. It's cheaper than buying this stuff and cooking it yourself! For days we came here after paddle-boarding the late afternoon away nearby on the beach. I've been here for lunch before, and it is crazy crowded, but come 4 or 5pm there are more staff than guests. Discovering the bar had a menu only for bar seating and takeout, we indulged on one summer evening...and didn't stop for days. It instantly became part of a perfect daily routine: head to the beach at 4 or 5 after the crowds, build an appetite with swimming/paddle-boarding/sunbathing, then meander a few meters to Casa Domingo as the restaurant begins emptying out. All fun, no annoying tourist crowds.

OUTSTANDING TAPAS!!! Nice and friendly waiters!…read more I am always skeptical about going out for tapas in Alicante: the city is well known for the beach and the sun, not for the food... but oh man! This place really surprised me! I am still in love with the anchovies marinated in vinegar over baked potatoes ("boquerones en vinagre"): A MUST!!! I also tried the "cold potato salad with hake ("ensaladilla de merluza"), and it was SUPERB! I also tried other tapas, but these two were unforgettable. By the way, I am also skeptical about Alicante wines, but tried the house red wine from Alicante: another pleasant surprise. We paid 20€ for 3 tapas and four drinks, which I think is totally affordable. The waiters are super friendly and nice. By the way, on Fridays and Saturdays the place is crowded... if you want a quiet dinner there, weekdays are better.

The place opened at 1pm and shortly after, the small place was quickly filled up with patrons. I do believe there is a connecting room with more tables (maybe for the dinner crowd). We ordered the grilled octopus and the grilled scallops. But were extremely tender and you could taste the freshness of the seafood. We also got the fried eggplant sticks which was pretty good, but we had better elsewhere in Malaga Spain. My son got two meat sliders which he also devoured. All in all, great local place with local patrons and a must recommend.
