Just like other reviewers I was eager to try this food truck but I was disappointed with the lack of options and also the high prices. I ended up ordering just the fried dough which was decent but also steeply priced at $8.50 which I could not justify :/

"Look for the Coqui" I had the pleasure of meeting the owners of the El Bori food truck at an event in Middlebury, Ct. Henry and Cisco are nice guys and serve good Puerto Rican food. The truck can be found at the corner of Hudson and Jefferson street in Hartford, Ct. Look for the big green truck with a giant Coqui riding on the back window. Lol They mainly sell Puerto Rican specialties, but they also offer burgers and hot dogs for the not so adventurous. They make their own garlic butter that they spread on almost everything. They also make their own Puerto Rican hot sauce that they'll squirt on your meal or sandwich if you like it spicy. My wife had the chicken with rice and beans. My sister-in-law had the pulled pork, rice & beans, mixed veggie, and a side order of sweet plantains and fried bread fruit. I had the pulled pork sandwich topped with barbeque sauce, fried plantain, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a good squirt of their hot sauce. Everything was delicious. Then they let me taste something that they're developing for the truck. It's a passionfruit bread. As soon as you pull a piece of the bread off, you can smell the beautiful aroma of passionfruit. Take a bite and it tastes like a regular piece of bread and then the flavor builds in your mouth and it comes forward the more you chew it. I've never tasted anything like it. It was absolutely delicious. They also have breakfast sandwiches, empanadas, kabobs, and more. Cisco is always coming up with new specials to offer their Hartford following.

Somewhat overpriced for a small container of rice, beans and pork shoulder. $15. It was ok. Not like how abuela makes it.

We may have caught it on a down day, but seems like it has great potential to be a fun spot! Plenty…read moreof food options and games to go around, and a decent selection of drinks. The frozen drinks looked good but we didn't have the opportunity to try any! A bunch of cool spots to hang out in here too, and this photo is taken from the top of a bus on the property!

We were the only customers there! I had seen on-line that three food trucks would be present, but there were just two -The Gulla Grille (Brazilian) and Taste of Home (Puerto Rican). Aunties Pasta (Italian) wasn't there. The designers of Westside really need to get a lot of credit for the beautiful job they did in salvaging this forlorn corner of Hartford. The dozens of wood tables and benches were made from old recycled industrial spools, and they are really amazing. There are corn hole boards, beer pong table, Giant Jenga, Connect Four, a movie screen, a music stage, and a bar spread throughout the property so there's a ton of things to do there. I had a kebab plate from Gulla and my wife had a cheeseburger from Taste of Home. She was given one of those buzzing gizmos to tell her when her food was ready. I knew my lunch was ready when the guy flagged me down like he was hailing a cab. I love the concept of food truck courts and I suspect Westside is quite a bit busier in the evenings that it was lunch time on a holiday weekend Saturday, when we had the place to ourselves..

I first visited La Cocina Cubano Food Truck about a year ago, with the intention of trying a Cubano…read moresandwich, but I got distracted by a Chicken Fricassee special they had that day. I finally tried the Cubano today, and it's the best Cubano sandwich I've had in CT. I know everybody is anxious to hear a guy originally from the Ohio suburbs break down a Cubano sandwich. So hear you go. Many CT places make good Cubanos, but they're more Cubano-adjacent than authentic. I don't think anybody but La Cocina gets the bread right in CT. The owners' Dad is Cuban and has owned a bakery. He makes the bread for these Cubanos. The bread is what you would find at the good Miami bakeries and sandwich shops. Fresh. Thin. Wide. Tasty. It has terrific color and texture when it's pressed on a Plancha. A lot of CT places have some good ingredients for their Cubanos, but the balance of ingredients and flavors is wrong in some way. A Cubano has two flavorfully impactful ingredients -- Mustard and Pickles. Although ham can be too salty in large quantities, the remaining Cubano ingredients are more or less mild. Swiss has less salt than many cheeses. And the pork umami flavor is subtle as well. I find some places ruin their sandwiches with an overly aggressive mustard or distracting pickles. La Cocina's Cubano flavors are perfectly balanced, and really allow the juiciness and umami flavors of the slow roasted citrus Mojo marinated pork and the texture of the bread to stand out. The sliced pickles are tasty and almost have a slight Gherkin vibe to the brine, and the mustard is mild and applied in a quantity that complements and doesn't overpower anything. The Swiss was perfectly melted and stretchy, and its mild flavor was just right. I highly recommend La Cocina's Cubano. Check their Socials to find the truck at locations such as near Bushnell Park and Trinity College. 5 Stars

This food truck was parked at the Gastro Park in West Hartford on a Saturday. I am a fan of lobster…read moreso I was excited to try them out. There were plenty of lobster dishes on the menu; from lobster and hot dog, lobster grilled cheese, lobster roll, and more. There were dishes up to $50 plus dollars. My husband had the lobster and hot dog, he said it was delicious. I had the lobster and shrimp grilled cheese. There were plenty of chunks of lobster and shrimp. The grilled cheese was loaded and cheesy, it was better than I expected. I am a fan! The fries were crispy and the people working there were nice. If you're a lobster fan and see this food truck, I highly recommend.

My favorite time of year? The moment I get to head back to Lobster Landing…read more There's just something magical about this place. Tucked right on the water, it's a peaceful, no frills seafood shack where you can sit outside, watch the boats glide by, breathe in the salty air, and let the day slow down. It's New England summer at its absolute best. Everyone talks about their famous lobster rolls (and for good reason because people travel far for them), but I'm a clam chowder girl through and through. And let me tell you: Lobster Landing has the best clam chowder I've had anywhere. It's creamy, fresh, loaded with clams, and the corn is sweet and crisp like it was just shucked that morning. The vibe here? Super laid-back. Pretty sure it's BYOB, and people come prepared. The picnic tables are almost always full, but somehow there's always a seat when you need one. The staff is always smiling, and it never feels rushed. Just chill. If you're looking for the perfect coastal stop this summer, this is it. Bring a friend, bring a drink, bring your appetite, and prepare to fall in love with Connecticut shoreline dining. If the line is around the corner, slather on the SPF and catch a tan. It's worth the wait!
