They also carry an impressive selection of vegetables, noodles, snacks, meat, dumplings and an abundance of Asian delicacies that truly reflect the essence of the cuisine. The seafood aroma wafts into the parking lot. Overall, it's a treasure trove.

As many times as we've dined at Chris' Taverna, we've never noticed/nor been to this international…read moremarket right next door. We were surprised to learn that they'd been there over a year. And the way I learned about it was from a Yelp review. When we entered, the gentleman was making a Turkish coffee for someone who had stopped by and putting out pastries in the case up front. We learned from him later that the various "delights" are made at a Turkish bakery in Miami. We browsed the aisles. In one of the refrigerated cases, we saw taramosalata (fish eggs/roe caviar dip), but the use by date was a bit short for us to use up the jar size in time. Maybe next time. Lots of dried fruits -- the dried medjool dates appealed -- along with canned goods from various cultures. A whole section of spices. Candies. Snacks. Drinks. Syrups. Nuts. Condiments. Olives. Canned/tinned fishes. etc. etc. Plus, fresh halal meat. We even got a sample of a small cube of pomegranate and cashew nut Turkish delight. This dessert features a layer of "gel" that binds everything together. The dessert is traditional -- it's been around for centuries -- but the creative ingredient combinations are more modern. In the case by the cash register, were various pastries including baklava -- regular size and minis; kunefe -- three types; Turkish delights with all varieties of nuts, coconut, and fruit/other flavors; to more recognizable desserts like a chocolate eclair filled with hazelnut paste (nutella). And machines to make different types of coffees. We wound up buying some Turkish honey with a chunk of honeycomb inside and some pastries -- mini baklava for me and some kunefe with pistachios for him. I'm sure we'll return when next in the area.

They have little to no Mexican prepared foods so genius that I am, I'm assuming this is Cuban or associated with another latin country. Would love to have found a place to pick up fresh pico de gallo, etc. but that's life. The selection is excellent. Even the wines. I have no complaints except that they followed me around everywhere (is it because I'm a Qwai Lo lol) I went and the cashier was rude beyond rude. Nevertheless, I would go back. But the management needs to educate the staff in normal etiquette. Btw, older manager did thank me as I left as one would expect. It costs NOTHING to be polite. But it generates a ton of money. Educate your team. And get me some pico de gallo please

Dear foodtown/mangotree,…read more I am writing to share several serious concerns regarding my experiences shopping at your locations, specifically the stores in Hollywood (off Sterling Road) and on Military Trail. Overall, my interactions with the staff and management have been deeply disappointing due to widespread unprofessionalism and poor customer service. Key issues include: - Customer Service & Phone Etiquette: When calling to check on orders, I have repeatedly been placed on hold indefinitely, hung up on, and even mocked when calling back. - Staff Assistance: Staff members have been openly dismissive and unhelpful when asked for assistance finding items in the store. - Management Conduct: I have witnessed store managers behaving aggressively, speaking disrespectfully to customers, and refusing to resolve complaints professionally. - Food Safety Standards: When I voiced concern to an employee about raw fish being left out in a cardboard box without ice, my concern was dismissed and laughed off. While a select few employees have been helpful, the vast majority of my experiences have been overwhelmingly negative. Given these ongoing issues with store management, staff training, and health standards, I hope these matters are addressed immediately to improve the overall quality and safety of your operations - but I honestly doubt you will do anything except perhaps change your name again to attempt to hide from the overwhelming complaints you received in the past being foodtown. Good News for the community is that H-Mart a honest to goodness real asian super market is opening up in West Palm on military trail and will be putting you out of business in short order. Or support the smaller mom and pop asian markets who actually care to have us as customers. Sincerely, Puddy Tat
